He's also far from a Top 20 pick at tackle, which is the problem. You expect more than "well he's not a turnstile" from that kind of talent. The fact that he's better than Grant Williams, John St. Clair, Adam Goldberg, etc etc should be a given, not a point legitimately brought up in his defense.

In his first two years as a right tackle, he gave up 14.5 sacks. The facts don't seem to support your statement. From a sack standpoint, his best season was actually '07 when he was on the left side. Whether that's a reflection of his skill to play on that side of the ball or the possibility that the rest of our O-line was so weak that the sacks came from elsewhere, I don't know. But he's far from a dominant pass protector on the right side, nor is he that capable of a run blocker (evident when you view the disparity between Jackson's rushing stats on the left versus right sides).

How long can you wait? Because the longer you wait, the longer Bulger is waiting on better protection and Jackson is waiting on better blocking, and the longer both of them are getting smashed in the meantime.
2008 will be Barron's fourth year in the NFL. I'd be shocked if a majority of people think that by year four, a player shouldn't be living up to his talent and draft status. I think Rams fans need to face the fact that while Barron isn't a complete bust, he's far from lived up to his potential and doesn't show the work ethic or attitude to make the transition any time soon.
