Terrell cut - Per 1380

I heard on 1380 just a minute ago that Terrell has been cut and there will be a press release a little later.

Re: Terrell cut - Per 1380

Not surprising after the news of his recent off the field incident. That said, I believe the plan was to pencil him in at LG with McCollum @ C this weekend. I wonder what the line is going to look like now (something we could basically say every week since it's ever-changing).

So which do you figure? Fry gets called up, or Sammy Street Agent becomes gainfully employed?

We should roll out a hybrid line, call it the 3-4 offensive line.

Barron and Cogs at guard, McCllum at center and use 4 TEs on every play. You could split them up 2 and 2 or over load one side 3 and 1 or even go with all four on one side of the line.

I have no idea if its legal but hey, its a line we have the personnel for.

Re: Terrell cut - Per 1380

I was really hoping he was turning around after his apology to the team... I guess not.
Hopefully we can find somebody to replace him, and soon. We should have Jackson back this week, we'll need to find someone to open up holes for him.

Fry could get called up. Didn't the Rams sign Nick Leckey as well? He could very well find himself in the starting line-up. Or Romberg could try to play injured, though it doesn't sound like that's probable.

Either way, even though most of us wanted to see this guy gone for a while now, it would seem a beat up offensive line just found a way to get worse.

True, but maybe we'll get lucky and this will actually improve the line. I don't know how, but I can hope.

Well it's gonna be hard to play worse then Terrell did. Oops, maybe I shouldn't have said that.

Hmm, Leckey....forgot about him. Well, whoever. I'm just glad I'm not Marc Bulger.

Re: Terrell cut - Per 1380

Hurts the OL, but improves the team, character wise. So long Dirt Claude! Sorry to have known ya. You shoulda been gone several months ago.

Maybe Atlanta would appreciate your services, and that jersey.

Time for Fry to get some in game tutoring from Andy.

Re: Terrell cut - Per 1380

We need to run an Elephant backfield with three backs so that we aren't so dependent on the O-line.

Re: Terrell cut - Per 1380

It's about time. Besides, CT helped his own cause and us also by firing himself.

BTW, yes, Nick Leckey, a four year veteran center from Kansas State is currently listed on our Rams roster.

It will be some kind of a record, to have all these OL names in one season.

Re: Terrell cut - Per 1380

Had to import this post from the 'Peter King on the Rams' thread, precisely in light of the many and ongoing changes our OL has experienced this year, which is simply unheard of.

Apparently we are going into another trial at OL.*

The word for today is ... dysfunctional.

dysfunction

Variant(s): also dis·func·tion \(ˌ)dis-ˈfəŋ(k)-shən\
Function: noun
Date: circa 1916
1: impaired or abnormal functioning <physical dysfunction>
2: abnormal or unhealthy interpersonal behavior or interaction within a group <family dysfunction>

dys·func·tion·al\-shnəl, -shə-nəl\ adjective

The Rams OL. Think of it as the five fingers of one hand. One after the other has either been cut off and hastily replaced by a questionable prosthesis or, has been broken repeatedly, patched up, and sent back into action, that is ... finger wrestling!!!

Ouch. :x

I wonder what Jackie Slater would say about the current condition of the Rams OL.

PS: we all know that these actual patch ups and casts have literally been on the fingers, hands, legs, teeth, etc. of many a tough football player -- Jack Youngblood, Larry Wilson (played with two broken hands, in a cast), et al --but the difference here is that our OL has been decimated (how many times have we heard that this season) and unable to play as a unit due to lack of stability and continuity, as Mike mentioned earlier.

*. - Nick Leckey, IF he plays this week (being that he is on the roster and active I suppose), has played Center three seasons with the Cardinals, 44 games; started 20.
