EDIT: Safest bet would be Steven Jackson, 1,500yds+ rushing. The pieces are in place to have a very powerful running team. And I think Jackson will just flat out ball next year. I'm looking for him to break some records ( if he stays healthy ).

Yea the only one I wouldn't bet on is the 8 interceptions. Not that OJ isn't talented enough to do it but getting ints is way more fickle than the other stats.

Clicking on this poll, I thought there would be an easy choice, but it's pretty fair across the board as far as top expectations of individual players. Each one is reasonable enough to make it a tough pick... nice choices, Avenger.

My first impulse was to choose Steven Jackson's 1,500 yards rushing, with the pieces (C, FB, blocking TE) that have been added around him, but that's still a high number of pure rushing yards for RBs these days.

So, I went with the pedestrian 1,000 yard receiver, which seems more common around the league. I don't think it's as much of a reach to expect our #1 receiver to break 1,000 yards.

Not that I don't think OJ's great, but 8 INTs is a pretty substantial number. Hopefully he'll have a little bit of competition for picks in the defensive backfield.

I voted for Bulger and the 90+ passer rating. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't a perfect passer rating in the low 150's? If so, 90+ doesn't seem like such a reach. Actually 9 QB's from last season had a passer rating over 90 for the regular season.

The Avery 1000+ receiving yards was a close 2nd for me. 22 receivers had 1000+ yards in 2008.

Jackson rushing for 1500+ yards was tough to select because of his inability to play every game. If I was guaranteed that he would be healthy for the entire season this would be a no brainer pick. Also, only 3 players had 1500+ yards rushing in 2008.

11 players had 10+ sacks last season. I'm hoping Long does it but I just don't see it.

125+ tackles for a mlb doesn't seem like alot especially since the NFL adds assisted tackles and solo tackles in the total tackles category. Keeping that in mind only 11 players had 125+ tackles in the 2008 regular season.

1 only "1" player had 8+ interceptions last season (Ed Reed). In my mind this is the toughest of the choices to attain nevermind select.

Steven Jackson can easilypick up 1500 yards behind our powerful blocking. My second choice would be that donnie avery burns CB's off the line for 1000 yds. JL can pick up that 125 tackles no problem. Bulged should come next with a 90 passer rating. Not that OJ can't grab 8 picks but I can see him getting 5 or6 this year

None of those look too far-fetched, but the only I thought looked very likely is Jackson topping the 1,500 yard mark (provided he stays healthy). The only reason I'm not sure about Avery is because last year even Torry Holt didn't have 1,000 yards receiving on this team.

Bulger posting a 90+ QB rating used to be a given, but unfortunately the last two seasons he's been slumming it in the lower 70's. Long could come through with 10+ sacks, but that would have put him in the top 12 at his position last year, which would mean he'd probably be in the Pro Bowl discussion. As far as Atogwe goes, interceptions are always hard to predict.

I went with OJ and the eight int's, because I think he will benefit from a overall deeper secondary.

Easily SJ getting 1,500+ yards. He is one of the greatest runningbacks in the league right now, but he has been playing with injuries and a not so great offensive line. This year, he said he is going to do stuff to help with injuries, and he obviously has gotten a much better line.
