What do you think of the bye week?
I have a couple of thoughts.
The Good:
#1. Bye is good if the team has alot of short term injuries.
#2. Allows the bye team an extra week to prepare for their next opponent.
The Bad:
#1. It's said that some teams come back from the bye a little rusty.
#2. If a team is on a winning streak the bye could break their momentum.
The Ugly:
#1. If the team is horrible (RAIDERS,WHINERS) it just drags out the season of doom for an extra week.
Voted for first choice and I like LARamO's views on the Bye.
I think in our case, this off-week will serve as a time to regroup. Or else!
I always appreciate it as a chance to heal up a little before the rest of the season, I think it's a welcome break, the NFL schedule is short and intense enough even with the bye week. As far as schedules go, I'm much more sceptical of preseason but that's another debate.
i like the bye week if its in the right spot,i think the rams have been very lucky with there byes the past few years,i think it can hurt if the team your playing next is very good and coming off a bye week, giving them 2 weeks to prepare (ex:seattle) of course this point makes no sense now because we were beating them pretty good and should have won that game easily even though they had 2 weeks to get ready.a week off to get there heads straight after a tough loss will be good.
I think this bye week is important for Pace, who has looked shaky lately. I think he needs some time to rest and recooperate.
I have to work this weekend out of town so it works for me for once...
I just don't like the bye week concept. Standings and statistics are thrown out of wack and when the Rams don't play, the withdrawals are painful!
Here's a thought. Bye weeks in general are KILLING my fantasy teams. Ask Nick about our Week 4 matchup...:( I think I started Vincent Jackson, WR of San Diego, Owen Daniels, TE from Houston, and an inured Brian Westbrook who ended up not playing, and seeing it was a Monday Night Game, I had no replacements... I'm eyeing a playoff rematch.
IMO, having the Bye this week, is a welcome relief in preparation for what is percieved our toughest four game stretch of the year.
I think the Bye week is a good thing sometimes, especially as it gives my nerves a rest, what with all the nail-biting finishes we've had so far this season
It's primarily a commercial thing that allows the NFL to get an extra weekend of TV revenue in the books.
