Dry spells
Three-game scoring droughts in "St. Louis" Rams history that are worse than the
current 32-point dry spell:
1998 — 25 points
Oct. 18 L 0-14 at Miami
Oct. 25 L 10-28 vs. San Fran.
Nov. 1 L 15-37 at Atlanta
The skinny — QB Tony Banks skips the team flight home following the
disheartening shutout loss in Miami. The offense apparently stays with him.
1995 — 29 points
Oct. 22 L 10-44 vs. San Fran.
Oct. 29 L 9-20 at Philadelphia
Nov. 5 L 10-19 at New Orleans
The skinny — After a 5-1 start in their inaugural year in St. Louis, the Rams
go into a funk after a crushing loss to the ***** in the "Same Old Sorry
(Bleep) Rams" game.
2002 — 30 points
Nov. 24 L 17-20 at Washington
Dec. 1 L 3-10 at Philadelphia
Dec. 8 L 10-49 at Kansas City
The skinny — Kurt Warner suffers a broken hand in the loss to Washington, but
plays (badly) with it in the loss to Philadelphia, fueling the first
"Brenda-gate" controversy.
2004 — 30 points
Dec. 5 W 16-6 vs. San Fran.
Dec. 12 L 7-20 at Carolina
Dec. 19 L 7-31 at Arizona
The skinny — Chris Chandler replaces the injured
Marc Bulger against the
*****, throws 6 INTs at Carolina, then implodes against Arizona, incurring the
wrath of "Mad" Mike Martz.
