Does he refuse or do they simply not put him there? Return duty was already wrapped up by dola in preseason, obviously that has changed. He can come in and step into return duty since that position is wide open now.

Actually, while Amendola may have had return duties wrapped up, the vast majority of the return workload in preseason went to Gilyard on both punt and kick returns. That's one reason he'd be a logical choice if Amendola is going to miss time; he spent all preseason in a similar role to Amendola's. While I agree Avery is the better overall player, it's entirely possible he's not the better fit for the specific role.

Pick up one of the two (Avery or Gilyard) and give Salas a shot.

I think the more specific role that we need it a play maker. Gilyard has never shown that he can be that while Avery can provide the offense with a legit deep threat and returner. I would like to think that if it came down to the two players McDaniels would choose the better player.

    Except that's pretty vague.

Not for nothing, but the Rams also need to be adding a 3rd QB this week- EVEN IF, as we're all hopeful for- Bradford is OK and won't miss time.

Given what I've seen from Norwood and the fact that Gilyard is an indifferent receiver with a propensity to muff punts, I'd go with Avery.

People always confuse avery's speed and begin claiming he can be our return man.
He doesnt return kicks or play special teams.

That said I would like to see avery resigned is DA is out for the year.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, guys wait, there is a reason Avery was cut. He is not as dynamic as he could be, look at Percy Harvin who measures almost the same in every way to Avery but does much more than Avery does on the football field. We need to bring in guys who are difference makers at this point (if there are any to be found).

I dont get why everyone wants Avery back so bad. I bet he asked to be released. He said it was a "mutual decision".

There must be someone out there for the Rams other than Avery and Gilyard. Do you fans want to see us win or what.? I think its about time the Rams took some chances, on the pitch and off it. We need the best talent, not the best team mate.?

Seems odd to me that people want him back when everyone seemed to want him gone before. i don't know if it's the same people, but still odd.
