Time to free up cap space.
Now that we have our new coach we need to re-work some deals to free up cap space.
1. Bulger, time to give back a little to help the team.
2. Pace, stick with the Rams and get a lower impact on our cap.
3. Bennett, enough said.
4. Holt, aging one effort wasnt really there this year either get out or re-structure.
5. Little, not sure how much s tied up in him but he didnt exactly dominate this year.
6. Chavous, how could I forget him, he has to go.
Lets clear some cap space for free agency and for the draft. Man I'm excited we got Spags.Last edited by rammiser; -01-17-2009 at 05:23 PM.

Re: Time to free up cap space.
Amen, amen, and amen I agree ith you 110%. Only time willntell though if our wishes are granted. But I'm pretty sure that Spags will address the defense 1st, hopefully we'll trade down to get more pics and go from there!

Re: Time to free up cap space.
Good post. I'm jumping for joy that we got Spags. Now let's bring in some players that will play to their full potential in Spag's schemes.

Re: Time to free up cap space.
Guys really? You think were gonna drop all of those guys?? I mean I kind of agree with some of them. but Holt?? And who's taking his place (bennett?? Man why did they sign that guy like that.. *******s.) Pace I admitt is injury prone as of late but unless were gonna have a dynomo draft I don't think releasing and FA shopping is gonna turn us around
Lets see who our OC is going to be before we disgard 1/2 the offence

Re: Time to free up cap space.
Yea really. Holt doesn't want to be here. He's on the downside of his career. And if the Rams draft Smith, the OT from Alabama, then I could see Pace leaving.
Why not release these guys? They were great in their prime but what have they done lately? Remember, this is the Not For Long league.Last edited by txramsfan; -01-17-2009 at 06:57 PM.

Re: Time to free up cap space.
The Rams could save nearly $14 million in cap space for 2009 simply by cutting Holt and Pace. Holt seems as if he wants out, Pace sounds indifferent but has joked around about it and said he'd be happy to stay if that's what the organization decides. Given their cap costs, there at least needs to be a discussion.
Regarding Pace, the Rams could part ways and then shift Barron to LT for 2009, which is Alex's final contract year. Then the Rams could still draft a tackle, have him start on the right side, and then shift to LT in 2010.Last edited by Nick; -01-17-2009 at 06:44 PM.

Re: Time to free up cap space.
I'd hate to lose both Torry and Orlando. Holt, for one, has been my favourite Rams player. It would be heartbreaking to see him go, but it could be inevitable and he would likely join Carolina. Pace only allowed two sacks this season which shows he could still get it done. If we go OT in the draft, which is a strong possibility, he could help mentor our new fixture on the offensive line.
Anyway, James Butler. There's a name we should get familiar with. He's a free agent SS from the Giants and I don't see why he wouldn't come to St. Louis to be a starter and to re-unite with his favourite coach.

Re: Time to free up cap space.
Rumor around town is that JULIUS PEPPERS has asked to be released from the Panthers ....
Not implying anything, just saying :-)

Re: Time to free up cap space.
I like Oher also! Take Barron and Pace and switch'em. Let Holt go, but even a better idea is maybe utilize him a whole lot more than we had. Ask Bennett to not show up for camp, (just send him the money). Maybe Sprags can utillize Little more creatively , he does play with 100% effort. Draft or sign a QB, MLB, and a FB. it's nice to have optimism back in RAMS Land.
