time for Spage to show his worth.

The real true measure of how great a coach can be is how well their team does after the bye. For instance Andy Reid is now 12-0 after the bye week. He gets his team motivated at the task at hand and cuts out the bs. We will see how Spags does next Sunday. Time for him to show his true worth or lack there of gentelmen.

???? We are 4-4 yes great love the direction we're going in. I just do not want to see our rams lay an egg next week in SF. A good coach will motivate their players and not let them get away from the task at hand and have a letdown. All i'm saying is that we will see how Spags does

But we get this thread or some variant there of *every single week.* When can we stop assuming that every game will show "how good Spags is"? I mean honestly. Yes, we need to win the game, but it's not going to define Spags, it's not even going to say how good he is, because how good a coach is is determined by multiple factors over the course of multiple years.

This has just gotten to the point of being absolutely ridiculous. Must we have a thread every week about how this one game, and only this game, will define the entirety of Spags career?

Btw, why did you only mention Reid? Is it because other coaches have lost after the bye and somehow managed to pick up the pieces of their ruined reputations and career to keep coaching?

Sorry to sound mean, but this is just so old.

P.S. how many superbowl rings does Reid have? Winning after the bye means nothing for measuring coaches.

Clearly they don't count the week between the NFC Championship and the Superbowl as a Bye Week

Yes of course. When I think of all the greats like Lombardi, Landry, Halas, Shula, Walsh and Vermeil I think about their records after the bye.

It can be an interesting discussion but I don't believe you could have picked a more ridiculous stat to hang any importance on.

Throwing my 2 cents on the subject. I think Spags and the entire coaching staff has done a good job week to week preparing the team for game week. The 1st quarter stats are off the charts.... I will say the only thing that keeps the staff from being great is the second half situation. We are 7-1 or at least 6-2 if we took our 1 half preparation and translate it into second half adjustments... Not a complaint...just commentary

Spags showing his worth? Just look at the Rams defense this season.

It shouldn't take much to motivate our boys for the upcoming game in SF.

Ok Ok OK I was really tired last night when I posted this. I understand the bye week preparations isn't the biggest factor when it comes to measuring a coach. But it is def a good measuring stick of how the players react to the coaches adjustments and preparations duringn the bye week. Spags has done a great job this season, I just would like the Rams to go for the kill this weekend since they are in first place and not lay an egg after the bye week.

I am with you on this. Fingers are crossed, lucky underwear is pressed and the sacrificial lamb is tied up in the living room awaiting the ritual.

you guys need to stop, and just think about what Bruce4life said.. I don't think it's right for most of you to jump all over him.. any great coach will do what he can to motivate his team to come out of the bye and play as hard as possible... if spags is a great coach like many of us think, then he shoud have no problem motivating this team and getting them ready to play.
