Re: Tired of hearing how bad the NFC West is
LOL, is this a "for real" thread?
The NFC West sucks, competition wise we are the only legit team. The ***** of the second half and their talent is also nice. But the division overall just sucks. I am sure even if we were in another division, we could have been close to an 8-8 record. We are not bad, but yeah the division is terrible.
Btw I do not really hear people griping about making the playoffs 8-8, maybe because there has been teams like that. All I hear is about how a team can make it 7-9 and yeah thats way worse. I will promise another thing: we will play a more competitive game and have a better chance at winning in the wild card round, where as no matter who the seahags play they will get whipped.

Re: Tired of hearing how bad the NFC West is
The only 11-5 snag I see is having to play on the road in Dallas in 1980.
Previous 7 years - won the NFC West title
1980 - Rams lost 34-13 to the Cowgirls in Dallas with an 11-5 season record.
1981 - Missed the playoffs at 6-10
1982 - Strike year
1983 - Rams lost 51-7 to the Redskins in the Divisional round.
1984 - Rams lost to the Giants 16-13 in the Wild Card round
1985 - Rams lost to the Bears 24-0 in the NFC Championship game.
1986 - Rams lost to the Redskins 19-7 in the Wild Card round.
1987 - Strike year
1988 - Rams lose 28-16 to the Vikings in the Wild card round.
1989 - Rams lose 30-3 to the Whiners in the NFC Championship game.
1990 -1998 - Era of darkness[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Era of Darkness ... I spilled my drink. Thanks.
If a team won their division seven straight times, that would be a NFL record. Now add on that team did it with seven different QB's in seven straight years, that record is unbeatable. To do that feat, you must of had a great Defense. Jack Youngblood was the captain of that defense.

Re: Tired of hearing how bad the NFC West is
I'm totally happy the Rams are still alive going into week 17. I would have never dreamed it would happen this season. That said, there is no doubt that the 2010 NFC West may be the worst division ever and that's the reason we're still alive. It is what it is.

Re: Tired of hearing how bad the NFC West is
Didn't the Chargers beat Denver to take the AFC West at 8 - 8 to get into the playoffs a few years ago? I didn't hear anyone complaining as much about that division then as they are about the NFC West this year.
Didn't those 8 - 8 Chargers beat the Colts in the playoffs before losing to the Patriots?
