Today's bright spots
This will be a short post.
Nice TD pass from bradford (who had all day to throw) to LLoyd.
Another solid game for Chris Long.
Laurinaitis had a bunch of tackles again.
Robert Quinn is really coming into his own, 5 tackles, a sack and a blocked punt.
Two nice interceptions early.
Pretty solid overall defense (excluding the coverage, i truly believe Justin King is now the worst starting player at any position in the NFL), especially when you consider the fact that the defense was on the field all game as the offense couldnt make first downs or run at all and the terrible field position we were faced with. Not saying the defense was great, but it really wasnt that bad.
It was nice to see mark clayton back on the field.

Ahhhh, it looks good on paper, but not like it should. This was a near dominant defensive effort by the Rams. If our offense was even mediocre and kept the D fresh, I doubt Seattle sees close to 200 yards offense.

Re: Today's bright spots
I hate to bring this into the conversation for a relatively positive thread, but we moved 1 step closer to Justin Blackmon. We should now hold the #3 pick due to Miami's win.
I do agree with the positives that GC started this thread with. I would rather see what Nate Ness has than Justin King who is a total liability every time he steps on the field. I also hate losing to Pete Carroll who may arguably be the worst HC in the NFL. Geez, I dislike him so much. Well we get another shot at AZ next week. They looked awful today.
Go Rams!

Darian Stewart had a really good game. This kid is a solid player and seems to get better every week.

Re: Today's bright spots
Excellent point on Stewart. He is a piece to the puzzle for sure. I dont see how anyone could say that Carroll (who i also hate) is a worse coach than Spags. The defense he has put together is looking special, they are a stone wall against the run, and they too have been hit hard with injuries in the secondary. I dont see anyone that remotely resembles bradford on their roster and the pickup of Lynch for dirt cheap was a terrific move.
I think the seattle offense has less than 300 yards today, but lets face it, Taveris Jackson stinks. Lynch is their entire offense. The browns held them to 3 points and jackson had not thrown a td pass in 123 throws before today. Lets also keep in mind that they were missing two starting offensive linemen, which certainly helped us.
Our front seven has come a very long way and i think we are solid at safety. The corner situation is a joke, but there is no team in the nfl that could survive the loss of 4 of their top 5 corners and be effective at that position. What drives me nuts is that spags worries about the corners so he sits back on third and long too often. He should be more aggressive. If we get burned, so be it, but without a pass rush, we have absolutely no chance at all of stopping any pass attempt. Justin King could not play man coverage against a pregnant woman in a phone booth.

Spags is getting it done on defense, they came in and played awesome, two picks, where great against the run all day until it was all but over.

Re: Today's bright spots
When you say spags is getting it done on defense, lets keep in mind that our defense was absolutly awful for the first 7 weeks of the season against quality competition and we have looked a lot better once we started playing teams with terrible offenses.
