Todd Steussie

What's the word on Steussie? I believe after week 1 they said 8-10 weeks until his return. It would be nice to have another linemen.

Re: Todd Steussie

Prof, this info is from today's (Thursday) P-D article by Bill Coats:

Quote:
Linehan also noted that tackle-guard Todd Steussie probably will rejoin the team next week after recovering from foot surgery in the preseason.
I hope TS returns strong, healthy, and determined to the OL. :bash:

Re: Todd Steussie

lots of confidence after our 1st win. This would be an added boost if he can get in there.

Re: Todd Steussie

If we win this week do you think lineham will mess with his line combo/rotation? I mean the guy played like a mad man last year but how can you fix whats not broken? I only say that if we win this week. If we lose bring in the steussdog.

Re: Todd Steussie

I think the line is solid, and once steussie gets back in, it'll be even better. There's always room for improvements! The line did a good job last week, coulda done better, but did the best they could!! I think when steussie gets back, our team will continue to get better and show some improvements!

Re: Todd Steussie

What's sad is that we are looking forward to Steussie coming back. That in itself shows what state our O line is in.

Re: Todd Steussie

Yes, but when Stuessie comes back, do they move Barron back to RT to jump offsides there?

Hit the nail on the head there tx, going into the season Steussie would have been seen as a valuable back up but that would have been all. Yeah he will help the line a bit and yeah he would probably have played better than the street guys that have been picked up but he isn't exactly gonna come back and play to a Pro-Bowl standard. Not that much to get excited about IMO although it undoubtedly add's a little much needed depth...

Re: Todd Steussie

Isn't Steussie free to sign with anybody? If so and a contender comes calling wouldn't he rather go there? I would certainly understand if he did.

Re: Todd Steussie

You're right, BG, but I believe Steussie is committed to staying with us the rest of the year and then, possibly, evaluate his retirement at the end of the season.

Maybe just my wishful thinking, to keep TS for the next 7 games.

What a great point. When you're looking forward to the return of Todd Steussie to your line-up, you're not in the best of shape.

Well, these are desperate times for our OL! :x

That's why I insist we call and persuade Coach Hannifan to put the pads on and join in! At least for depth.
