Re: Top 20 Players in the NFC West

Aldon Smith #2? I don't think a guy whose contributions are mainly a product of another players holding should be #2. He's good, but not #2 good. Whose been holding so that Chris Long can clear a blocker?

This whole list seems like a 'you know what' sandwich. I find it helpful when fantasy footballers use the same 'this is what they did last year logic' as the sole analysis how good a player will be next year. Context? Whats that?

I have to disagree with Aldon Smith. He had a very good year, but his numbers were bolstered by an unusually great game stat wise against Chicago (5.5 sacks) and then he basically disappeared from the backfield when Justin Smith was having trouble illegally holding lineman.

A guy who couldn't get a postseason sack is listed at number 2?!? And Patrick Peterson at number 5?

Also, who the hell is Barry Wagner?

Janoris Jenkins is nowhere near the top 20 in the NFCW.

That's debatable, but I'm more confused by this guy's notion that Saffold is one of the 6 best players on the team. Seems like there should be a better candidate for "honorable mention" than him.

Re: Top 20 Players in the NFC West

What nonsense to include players who have yet to play a down in this division such as Jake Long, Cliff Avril and Anquan Boldin. AV is right, there is a need for a decent bloggers, this one is wasting everyone's time. Also why isn't Robert Quinn on this list, I'd take him over Aldon Smith at this point.

    Go Rams!

It's a typo, they meant Bobby Wagner, I'm assuming.

I think Colin Kaepernick should be higher, he has a total of 1,814 yards and 10s TD in his career going for him. Hope I got the font right.

No love for Bradford, even honorable mention? The blogosphere narrative that Sam is nothing more than a below average QB continues.

That too. Saffold rarely plays and when he does he's pretty good, nothing better thus far.

    That font was horrifically wrong

I don't think up until now Sam is nowhere near the top 20 in the NFCW. Matter of fact, I'd have him ranked #3 in the QB ratings behind both Krappernick and Wilson, though I think the tables can turn damn quickly after this year.

Fair point, but Bradford didn't even rate honorable mention. Do you agree with that assessment? I don't.

I do agree that the tables could turn quickly after this year with regard to QB's, especially since Kaepernick and Wilson have not definitively proven they are the real deal.

I agree. Somebody is going to figure out the read option. One thing that never seems to go out of style is a good, athletic, pocket passing QB, and that just so happens to be what we have. I think the QB playing field will level out in the west in fairly short order.

I don't know, he was literally a shut down corner in the season ending game against Seattle. Not only did he not give up any completions, no receiver he was covering was targeted for the whole game
