    Torry Holt and Champ Bailey

My memory is a little fuzzy on this, but given our issues in the secondary, i was just wondering...

When we picked holt in the draft, did we pass on champ bailey to do so?

If we did, as much as I love torry holt, i think we took the wrong guy.

Holt went 1 pick before Bailey.

I wouldn't change that. Besides, don't forget that the Rams got a pretty decent CB - Dre Bly - in the 2nd round of that draft.

I think Bailey is a tad bit overrated, but not by much. That said, I wouldn't have traded the pick. I just would have found a way to keep Dre Bly.

One thing has me scratching my head. When did all the WR's become so big and strong and all the DB's short and wimpy?

Because the technique needed to play CB effectively is generally better for smaller players between 5'10-6'1. You'd rather have a CB that has quick feet, able to change direction on a dime, and doesn't need long strides to gain speed as opposed to a long striding WR you can easily matchup against a fast WR on a fly pattern. Bigger WRs for the most part are slow and aren't effective except on third and short, and redzone fade routes. Its the TO, Randy Moss type big WRs w/ the combo of speed and size that have really killed the balance. Most WRs now are in that mold of big, physical w/ adequate sub 4.5 speed however if you made those guys CBs they wouldn't have the same success.
