    Torry Holt retires a Ram

Torry Holt will sign a one-day contract to retire as a member of the St. Louis Rams.

Holt finished out his career in failed spots with the Jaguars and Patriots. Due to bad knees, Holt's effectiveness fell off the map at age 31. We suspect Holt needed at least a few more Pro Bowl-caliber seasons in order to be a legit Hall of Fame candidate. Now 35, Holt finished his career with 920 receptions, 13,382 yards, and 74 touchdowns. He made seven Pro Bowls and six times was a top-eight fantasy wideout. Holt is second in Rams history in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving TDs. Isaac Bruce, a slightly less dominant receiver but far better "compiler," is No. 1 in all three categories.

Loved Big Game. Glad he's back here to retire a Ram! Lets just get big O to do the same, and we should be ready to go.

Wonderful news ... Thank you, Mr. Holt for always being a class act on and off the field.

If a team won their division seven straight times, that would be a NFL record. Now add on that team did it with seven different QB's in seven straight years, that record is unbeatable. To do that feat, you must of had a great Defense. Jack Youngblood was the captain of that defense.

One of my favorite players growing up. Gotta call him 'Big-Game'. It was a pleasure watching him dominate in a Rams jersey for as long as he did. One of the best route runners I've seen with hands that caught anything that touched them. He and Bruce are up there as top WR tandem ever, and are definitely number 1 in class. Both deserve hall of fame considerations. Glad he's retiring a Ram.

One day!? Screw that. Give him a year! He could start for this team!

(Okay, not really......but God bless him for retiring a Ram. The way it should be.)

Hopefully this will lift our curse on having incompetent receivers.

    The glory days...sigh.

Back when we actually could pass downfield.

Torry Holt is one of my favorite players ever, glad to see him do this.

Did Bruce do the same? I can't remember, but don't think so. Wish he would or would have.

When you look at guys like Terrell Owens, OchoCinco, Randy Moss, Santonio Holmes, Plaxico Burress and the zillions of other talented recievers who are complete ***holes, it makes you appreciate how fortunate we were to have two of the most classy individuals ever to suit up at the position in Isaac Bruce and Torry Holt. They should just burn down the Hall of Fame if you can honestly tell me these guys don't deserve enshrinement.

A respectful Ram-salute to a fine, fine receiver! Sincere thanks to you sir for your talent and many terrific plays (thanks Codeman for those great highlights, some I'd never seen). ...As well as for the classy gesture to retire as a STL Rams player. Way to go.

All the best to TORRY HOLT.

PS: IMHO, I doubt this excellent WR will ever make the NFL HOF. Bruuuuuuce, yes.

Really, just a class act and someone that I look up to as a Ram player. Thanks Torry for all you did for the organization.
