treat Boller like you treat Bulger
Earlier this year, the rams were on a drive to tie the game, Bulger scambled for 6 yards on 3rd down. They needed 7. The fans on here, the media, everyone threw Bulger under the bus, said he was slow, and he shoulda took the hit for the drive. Kyle boller, who's a better athlete, scrambled for 13 yards, we need 15. I want to hear fans rag on him like they did Bulger. But because savard, and farr, haven't said anything about it, I'm guessing all is forgiven.
This brings me my point, it isn't Bulgers performance that gets ppl, its him. Fans just don't like him.

Re: treat Boller like you treat Bulger
It could be that people expect Bulger to be a starter. Could be that he makes a lot more money than Boller. Or perhaps it's that Boller isn't suppose to be very good. It's also the last game of the season, and it wouldn't do much good to rag on a 3rd string QB. And I'm not sure how fans could personally dislike Bulger if (most likely) no one here has met him.

Re: treat Boller like you treat Bulger
first of all, bulger slid well short of the hit when he easily could have picked up the first...boller had to fight 2 guys to get to a yard short, and had no chance of picking up the first. much different situation.

Re: treat Boller like you treat Bulger
Bulger has much higher expectations than Boller though. They are both horrible but just saying.....

Re: treat Boller like you treat Bulger
Im gonna defend boller just like i did bulger. As a QB that is scrambling for the first down he cant see how far you need to go. Sure you can guess, but you are not sure. Also a Qb mentality is to throw the ball not run it, therefore you are not expecting to run when the play starts, unless the play calls for such a thing. It is a split second decision that you cant think through very much. A qb is not designed to take a hit by two lb'S. We all saw what happened to pat white today in pitt, that was just from a CB hitting him.
In short, give the guy a break, he isnt a good QB but he was trying to make somthing happen.

Re: treat Boller like you treat Bulger
This is simply because the fans and media have made Bulger out to be the scapegoat. He will be that until the team gets better. I completely disagree that hes the reason for the rams terrible season but many fans will still use him as the scapegoat.

Re: treat Boller like you treat Bulger
Marc isn't the only reason. He may not even be the main reason. But he is a very strong contributor. The one or two games I saw earlier in the season, he looked like he was more concerned with the DL than he was the WR.
Does he have history that could justify focusing on the DL? Yes, if he wasn't one of the best paid QBs in the league. As a top tier (pay wise) QB, it is your job to focus on where the ball is going, not on who is trying to stop you from getting it there. I saw at least three phantom sacks in the games I was able to watch. If Bulger doesn't want to take those chances, he should return some of his salary. Until he does that, he deserves the criticsm he is getting.

Re: treat Boller like you treat Bulger
Boller's instincts were right, one more step and his block would've gotten knocked clean off. Referring to Bulger's play, he did his best 'Jim Everett' and got happy feet when he had a sure 1st down.
Difference between Boller and Bulger: Bulger SUX, But Boller SUX just alittle bit more.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Re: treat Boller like you treat Bulger
(Whispers in ear)
I have met Bulger. I thought he was quite shy and not a big fan of public speaking. He's a really sweet guy, regardless.
It was in 2005 at a Missouri Sports Hall of Fame luncheon in Springfield. I was his server. It might have been a few days early, but still best birthday ever.
To get back on topic, I actually put a bit more blame on the trainers that are supposed to help players minimize injuries as well as the QBs coach, since all three of our QBs had close to the same rate of failure. I DO treat all three QBs the same, because they all had little or no time in the pocket, they were all coached by the same staff calling the same plays, and they all had the same results. Bad, bad, and bad.[SIGPIC]http://www.stickershoppe.com/mm5/graphics/00000001/MLRPANCmini.jpg[/SIGPIC]This is for Randy! GO BRM!
