    The True History of ClanRam

Most people don’t realize how this site came to be, so I thought I’d give you the true untold story.

ClanRam started back in the 1970s as a network of Los Angeles Rams fans who communicated via ham radio. The original name of the network was, of course, HamRam. RamDez, the founder of the network, would communicate with up to 3 other Rams fans in the United Kingdom at a time, discussing such topics as the Rams seven year run as NFC West Champs, the QB controversies involving James Harris, Ron Jaworski, Pat Haden, Joe Namath and Vince Ferragamo, and the untimely death of Carol Rosenbloom.

HamRam finally “crossed the pond” when Dez learned that he had a half-brother in Texas, who soon took on the moniker of TxRamsFan. Together, they managed to link HamRam into the e-mail system of the growing world of computers. This sparked a name change, and Dez, wishing to maintain the Scottish heritage of the group, chose the name “The William Wallace memorial Clan of Rams fans throughout the Globe.” Tx remarked that this name was a bit wordy, and the name was ultimately shortened to ClanRam.

With the 1980s in full swing, the Clan, like many companies, became susceptible to corporate raiders. A young industrialist name Jason made a bid to take over the company but, after a night of alternate shots of single malt scotch and Jack Daniels, agreed instead to a merger that left him with a sufficient degree of control, albeit as a somewhat silent partner. Thus, RamWraith was born.

After Al Gore invented the internet, the Clan joined the modern age and launched as a website in the early 90s. This allowed the group to reach a much wider audience. Greater controls were also needed, so the power base recruited new moderators to control the masses. A diverse team was assembled, including a prison warden (HUbison), male exotic dancer (Evil Disco Man), a casino boss (laram0) and a pirate TV conservative talk-show host (RamsFanSam).

Still, more was needed. And so, the group decided to take DNA samples from each moderator, and create a multi-DNAed clone to be the “Mod of the Future.” As he was introduced to the site, Dez dubbed him the Neo Institutional Clone or “Nick” for short.

Who am I, you ask? Well, that’s a story for another day. But otherwise, as the late great Paul Harvey would say, now you know… the rest of the story.

Aye, care and your spirit may be killed. Stay negative, and it will live... at least a while. And dying in your beds, many years from now, would you be willin' to trade ALL the days, from this day to that, for one chance, just one chance, to come back here and tell Linehan and Ziggy that they may have taken our hope, but they'll never take... OUR RAMS!

    LMAO. HamRam indeed.

I do wonder if AV's off his meds, though.

Of late he's been alternately savage-never unjustifiably but fullfisted,nonetheless- and almost whimsical. Maybe it's just an off-season/spring fever. I'm reminded of that weird Bonanza episode when Hoss goes a little 'touched in the head".

I still want to hear some scary campfire stories explaining the Legend of Black Trout.

This character evokes such strong reactions at the mere mention of the name. It's like the baddie wizard in Harry Potter..He Who Shall Not Be Named ( cue ominous drum roll).

C'mon Uncle tx, if you won't air the family laundry & explain which of your parents slutted their way through Scotland...throw us a Hall of Shame poster bone, you tease.

I'll bring the marshmallows & a fifth of Tres Generaciones.

AV's in Florida; he can bring the limes.

Edit: ps EDM can come but only if he promises NOT to dance. I never want to be that scared.

Oh man, those were the days. It seems like yesterday that Nick was just a testtube.
