Re: Trying Not to Get Too Pumped Up
I know--myself included--that many of us wanted Khan as our new owner; however, I think having Stan is much better. Why? He, like the next coach I hope, is experienced. Stan knows how to build a consistently good team. As far most resources are concerned, they seem to believe Fisher will be the guy in St. Louis.
My point is this: If Stan wants Fisher in St. Louis, I have a feeling he's going to get what he wants.

Always and Forever a fan of the St. Louis Rams

Re: Trying Not to Get Too Pumped Up
I can't believe money would be an issue in getting Fisher, it would have to be Fisher wanting to go somewhere else. I gotta' say, though, the Rams job is a VERY ATTRACTIVE job. To wit:
1) Probable franchise QB in place; not a complete rebuilding job.
2) Committed owner with deep pockets
3) Huge Cap room
4) #2 draft pick allows for many possibilities
5) Low expectations from everyone other than us diehards
6) A city and fans DYING to support a winner
Can't wait to see how this shakes out!

Re: Trying Not to Get Too Pumped Up
*Ahem* * Not that I like to toot my own horn (well, ok, I LOVE tooting my own horn) but I did see where this was going after the Baltimore loss in week 3.
That game was followed up with a complete meltdown at home against Washington a week later and, for all intents and purposes, the season was in the crapper. I mean losing to Rex Grossman at home?!?
I knew this didn't bode well for the rest of the year so I started a thread for possible HC candidates much earlier than I ever wanted to and much to my chagrin at that.
At any rate here we are and I like all Rams fans can only hope that Kronks makes the winning call this time....
WHAT SAY YE?

Re: Trying Not to Get Too Pumped Up
Most teams in the west are rebuilding still... whiners look to have turned the corner still not sold on Smith yet... Gore is getting older as well...
Comparing the NFC west to lets say... AFC East look who you have to beat to win the division..
AFC East
Patriots
Jets
Dolphins
Bills
I would think getting the Rams in position to win the west is easier the knocking off the Patriots and the Jets.
How about the Bears in the NFC North...
Packers
Lions
Bears
Vikings
If the Bears job opened its still is a harder division to win in...
Considering last year the Rams where one game from winning the West i would think it's weaker then the Fins job.Last edited by Rambos; -01-04-2012 at 03:30 PM.

Re: Trying Not to Get Too Pumped Up
Maybe we just have a different perception of what "weak," actually is. Because when you take the records of the top 3 teams in each division throughout the NFL, the NFC West, with a combined record of 28-20 ranks fourth out of eight divisions. That doesn't seem weak to me, but everybody has their own opinion.
Only the AFC and NFC North divisions top 30 victories (each having 33), and the NFC South with 29 wins, top the NFC West.
The AFC East are 27-21, which would place them one game behind the NFC West.
So not only does the NFC West minus the Rams of course, have a better record than the AFC East, but the Jets are completely overrated and are certainly no better than Seattle or the Cardinals in my opinion.
