Two Trades We Should Do (IMHO)

Here are two moves that i think the Rams should make that would help the Offensive side of the ball. I don't know what the compensation would be for these moves, I will leave that to better minds than mine to discuss that.

Trade for Leshore from the Lions
    &
    Britt From the Titans

Both of these teams have connections to Fisher, and even though Britt is a head case Fisher drafted him and he's had a history of working with guys like that.

This is just one mans simple view of the world, now excuse me while I go back to my land of Maple Fairy's and Beaver Pelts (Because I'm Canadian )

Yeah, it takes awhile for Americans to get past the part where the top of our heads levitate about our bodies. Besides that we're all the same buddy

The Titans would probably take a pack of gum for Britt right now.

That's kind of my thought, and its not like our WRs are lighting it up right now...

I think he could find his way here in the off season, but i just don't want to take the "Next year" Approach anymore.

Sometimes the player you need isn't in the draft - he's already on someone else's team. Make some deals and get some play makers. At least you know what you're getting when you make the trade.

Both moves make perfect sense both buy-low candidates; both have shown playmaking ability in the past

I'm sure we could put a pack of gum in Pead's pocket and send them both.

    )
How is this going to help the offensive line block and protect ?
How is this going to help/revise the offensive scheme so that is it more productive ?
What makes you think Leshore is any better than what we have now ?

These trades will do nothing to make our offense more productive in my opinion.

We need to bolster the offensive line (already pointed out ad naseum) and we need to re-scheme our offense. Throwing to a RB 1 yard behind the line of scrimmage is NOT going to get it done.

I say we need the following.

    1) New offensive scheme which probably means a new offensive coordinator
    2) First 3 picks of next years draft should be OL, OL, RB. We might have been better off taking Lacy this year and not giving up our 2nd round draft pick. Lots of folks talked about that.

Nobody can convince anyone else that guys that are quick and run 4.3/4.4's cannot get open and Bradford cannot hit them in stride. I think we all believe this can be done now.

Our GM and his staff should be very busy right now looking at offensive line talent throughout the colleges.

I might be inclined to send Pead packing as well if the other RBs on the squad were setting the world on fire. But judging by their performances, I'd say this thing is bigger than Pead.

I would rather trade for Tate from Houston. Not too sure about a WR (especially Britt). Sammy would have to develop a chemistry with him and I would rather he try to develop that with our current crop of receivers.

Re: Two Trades We Should Do (IMHO)

Seriously to bring in "new" blood--hand them the play book--get them on the field and get them up to speed--NOT going to happen. The Rams had made great moves:

    Acquired Cook & Long
Moved up in the Draft and got Austin

Even had the Rams kept Sjax I don't think the way the o-line is blocking it wouldn't have mattered. Losing DA to the Patriots was a blow--but like Sjax it all worked out for the better since both are on the sidelines injured.

With the salary cap issues at the start of the season, I wonder could the Rams brought in more help for the O-line--Not sure that was possible. Considering the other steals the Rams got in the latter rounds of the draft...hard to tell.

If I had to point a finger where the weakness lies, it starts and ends with J. Fisher. We all agree the OC/DC play calling and schemes have been wanting to put it politely. Simply the Rams lost somewhere along the line their physical toughness and focus. Regardless of the vanilla on both sides of the ball, its J. Fishers staff and the buck stops at the top. Simply seeing how the Falcons are losing and the Rams gave up a game to them, makes the stink in the room all the worst!

No thanks, both of these guys are underachievers & have serious personality issues. Since so many guys keep talking about how S.F. built their team, we need to take a look at their philosophy and build our team through the draft. Its time to stop taking other teams cast offs.

I have had my eye on Tate as well. I believe he is a free agent after this season. Not sure if it might be a better idea to wait till the offseason or try to get him now. At least we wouldn't have to give anything up.
