Even if he comes back he wont last long with Jake Long at left tackle. 20 yards of penalties and 2 QB hits allowed in one drive. Awful.

I am hoping it was just game-rust. If he continues to play like that next game, then we should really start worrying.

Bortles and Matthews would have been a great 1st round.

Don't have a vid/source yet but this was quoted on another site.

Brian Quick on Bradford's injury: "I was a little nervous about it but everything is all right. Sam told me that he is OK."

I'm willing to give him a slight break as this was his first live action in months.

So he could get killed behind this sieve for an offensive line Bradford's had since he's been here?

He clowns on Schefter and his tweets and says Sam is upbeat and walking around fine. They think it's a hyper extension.

He was completely toasted on virtually every play on that first drive. Probably an exaggeration to say he whiffed EVERY play but he looked slower than mud in general. If The Rams dodged a bullet, it was intended for Fisher & and/or his staff for letting a rusty Long start in a dress rehearsal game when the Browns would be bringing it. Why not ease him back later in the game? So peeved about this, I could spit. I was really nervous there when they took Hill out after only one drive, ie looked like they might have had bad news about Sam's knee & felt the need to protect Hill as the starter.

    Carnage in Cleveland....good grief....

Damn but didn't Quick look like a beast ?

This is what scares me as well. We don't have a brick wall for an O-line. I'm hoping in was just a bad play and he comes back strong.

Hyperextension makes sense given what you see on the video (ie. not much in terms of a hit), and should be a good diagnosis in terms of Bradford being sidelined for minimal time.

Personally not worried about it at all he hasn't even had much practice time and Fisher said that Long went to him and wanted a lot of playing time and time vs the 1s he knew he was out of shape and needed to get in it quick. I am not worried about Long in the least personally.

Hope Sam is ok. I still haven't been able to watch the game yet as DirecTV and / or NFL network keeps showing them playing and then airing a different game. Pissing me off...

The Browns played their first string deep into the 3rd Q; he didn't need to start to get quality rust-busting. Of course you want to get your starting OL some time to work together but I really don't think it was necessary to put Bradford at risk like that just to get Long his desired reps. These weren't elite DEs that made Long look like Alex Barron. He clearly wasn't ready to play.

Considering how carefully Fisher & co have been treating the other dinged starters, it seemed like an uncharacteristic risk on their part.
