First glance I'd say Hundley or Winston would be my choices. Either way I'm going to go cry in my beer.

At least we have the best backup qb in the league, And there's 3 solid QBs when the draft comes along. My choice would be Bret Hundley.

    But this is beyond disappointing.

Regrettably, I agree. Sam will never be a starter in the NFL again.

Hopefully, Fisher can find a way to draft us a great QB next April.

To say he will never be a starter again is pretty harsh. If anything, that's what makes me sick the most. I'm pretty confident when (not if) he gets another chance with another team he is going to light it up. It'll be just our luck. His talent is undeniable, but unfortunately so are his durability issues.

The season hasn't even started and we're gonna be talking quarterback prospects all year. I'm going to take up drinking.

The season is not over! It hasn't even started! Thank God the players won't have a defeatist attitude!

Unbelievable, poor Sam. The guy has the talent, he just can't stay on the field. That's too bad. I was really looking forward to watching him silence all of the critics this year. Is there anybody worth trading for this season?

We went 4-6 with KC last year. Hill is a much better QB than KC is. As long as the rest of the Rams can stay healthy we won't be a team that gets rolled weekly with this defense. It could be some painful games where we just can't manage to score with our defense being competitive but I'll say Hill leads us to another 7-9 season.

Mallett, Flynn, Vick, Glennon, Sanchez.... Damn this is depressing.

    Re: Mortensen: Bradford TORE ACL

Well, so much for my 'good feeling'.

And my birthday gift from my wife for me and my son is looking like a ****ty deal now - she paid top dollars for great seats when the Rams come to my city this year.

We've still got an outside shot at the playoffs this year - but the odds just got a LOT longer and the chance to do anything in the playoffs seems completely lost.

The worst part is the 'rebuild' phase begins anew. Another couple of years IF we hit on a top flight QB. And without Bradford, a lot of our free agents aren't going to want to stay.

I think this also increases the chances the Rams relocate.

    Guess we'll see.

Maybe I'm just drowning in Egyptian river water but I want something more official. So far we have unconfirmed reports from 3 scoop-hungry pundits on one side & the fact that Sam walked off the field & was, according to Fisher, walking around after the game & in good spirits on the other.

    Re: Mortensen: Bradford TORE ACL

    My initial thoughts:

    1. This really, really sucks for Sam Bradford, the Rams, and their fans.

    2. On some level, I blame Adrian Peterson and Dr. James Andrews. They have created the false belief that an ACL is a 6-9 month injury. Ask RGIII, Derrick Rose and, now, Sam Bradford if they agree with that theory.

    3. Sam Bradford's career grade may ultimately be an "Incomplete."

    4. All is not lost. Sean Hill is a very capable QB. He has a career passer rating of 85.9, and that includes stats from many starts (not merely mop-up duty). He has a good arm and is mobile. With the Rams' defense and running game, they can still succeed (10 wins is still a possibility). I'm not giving up on 2014.

    5. We WILL be in the QB market next year. Brett Hundley, Jameis Winston, Marcus Mariotta and Bryce Petty are all potential first round prospects.

    6. I hope Rams fans don't use this as an excuse to rip Sam (though I know some will). I don't care how "tough" you are... when a 300 lb. guy bends your knee the wrong way, bad things will happen.

    7. Did I mention that this sucks?

Right now, I'd take Sean Hill over all of those guys.

    Re: Bradford Injures Left Knee

Would have to think that Hill is the stop gap QB if needed to fill in for 3 or 4 weeks, whereas Davis must be in their mind as the possible future for exactly this scenario. I think Davis will get a lot of playing time again in the last game to see if he might be a solution, but likely Hill starts the season, perhaps until the bye.

I know that in this day and age this does not happen, but if Bradford is a class act, he would acknowledge that we did not get 60 million out of him and offer to cut what we owe him in half and just walk away today. We don't need him hanging around with a clipboard this year and next just because we owe him $15 million. I don't believe there can be an injury settlement cuz his money is almost all guaranteed.

Given that he was the last QB to get pre-bargaining agreement money, he will go down as one of the biggest busts of all time. 60 million dollars, at the time, was Peyton Manning/Tom Brady money. Instead we got Marc Bulger 2.0. Actually that's an insult to Marc Bulger.

    Re: Mortensen: Bradford TORE ACL

Devastating, just devastating. It's tragic to see a guy with so much talent, who really looked to be taking things to the next level and finally have the pieces in place to succeed, once again have his body let him down.

As a huge Bradford advocate, I hate, really hate to admit it, but the Rams need to go in a different direction.
