Re: UNCONFIRMED: Rams calling WR Devin Thomas for workout
Mark Clayton out for year, but Rams don't want Devin Thomas
October 10, 2010 10:12 PM ET, by Gregg Rosenthal
The Rams have lost their top receiver for the season. Again.
Mark Clayton told reporters after Sunday's loss to the Lions that he will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury. It's uncertain what his injury is. Clayton was only acquired from Baltimore to replace Donnie Avery, who tore his ACL at the end of the preseason.
St. Louis could use a wideout, which immediately led to speculation the team could be interested in recent Redskins cut Devin Thomas. Rams G.M. Billy Devaney, however, says that's not going to happen, according to Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Laurent Robinson, Danny Amendola, and Brandon Gibson are Sam Bradford's top three wideouts now. Amendola had 12 grabs against the Lions for 95 yards.

Re: UNCONFIRMED: Rams calling WR Devin Thomas for workout
If there is someone sitting on the FA market at this point in the season, there is a reason for it. Mark Clayton was a stroke of luck (temporarily), we will not get anything else for free.
There are trades to be made, as we have seen, but only if the front office is willing to give up something. Thus far, they seem content to wait until next year.

Re: UNCONFIRMED: Rams calling WR Devin Thomas for workout
Well, Billy, I hope we have plans to get a wideout through a trade, because progress and next year aside, I'd like to see a competitive product on the field, and it appears that the Rams are incapable of providing that competitive product with the current stable of healthy wideouts.
Of course, we always have next year. You may not.

Re: UPDATE: Rams won't be calling WR Devin Thomas
people need to understand that alexander has done absolutely nothing to show he can be productive at this level despite his college career. his leg is bad and he's probably not ready anyways. he is not the answer this year.

Re: UPDATE: Rams won't be calling WR Devin Thomas
lmao i know right... "Alexander runs a comeback route" "OH NO HIs Knee has spontaneously exploded! his career is over!!!" "John lynch- sorry rams fans lol" ...at this point you just sign a plaer of a practice squad and put them behind the guys we have here. Personaly im dissapointed with Gilyard and Gibson. I still think the rams should stil go to them so they can get acusstomed to the speed and feel for the game. Gilyard needs to ge this head out of his ass and grow a pair and gibson may have to sneak super glue on the field from time to time...
