Re: UPDATE: Rams won't be calling WR Devin Thomas
Mike Sims-Walker is supposedly on the trading block for a late pick, probably a 4th or 5th rounder. But whatever happens decision wise, I'm on board.

Re: UPDATE: Rams won't be calling WR Devin Thomas
He would be worth a 4th for sure!
I also read last week that Lee Evans was available.
Look, when you find yourself wishing that Dominic Curry was still healthy, you know you're in dire straits.
It sucks to have our hands forced, but it looks like we need to make a trade here.

Re: UPDATE: Rams won't be calling WR Devin Thomas
Why not give Matt Jones a look? He has great hands even if he doesn't look fast. He was a blast to watch in college. He had a decent year in 2008 and was active in training camp with the Bengals this year. I thought he looked good in their first preseason game, then he disappeared when they brought in TO.

sims-walker wouldn't be a bad idea, he's a decent enough receiver with some size. someone clearly needs to be brought in, will be interesting to see how they go about this.

Re: UPDATE: Rams won't be calling WR Devin Thomas
Spags just said in his press conference that D. Alexander is an option, which would indicate that he's at least CLOSE to being ready to play if they're considering him.

Re: UPDATE: Rams won't be calling WR Devin Thomas
Here's what was said about Alexander...
So it sounds like, while they're not ruling him out, they're still taking it pretty slow with Alexander. We'll have to wait and see, but it still sounds like that leg is an issue.St. Louis Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo hinted Monday that former Mizzou star Danario Alexander would be considered as the team looks for a replacement for WR Mark Clayton, who suffered a season-ending knee injury Sunday in Detroit.
Alexander, a member of the Rams' practice squad, has had four surgeries on his left knee, the last about nine months ago. Atrophy weakened his left thigh, and Alexander has been working in the weight room and with the trainers to try to rebuild the muscle mass.
"We'll certainly look at Danario," Spagnuolo said. "He's excited about doing it."
But Spagnuolo was careful not to commit to anything.
"We want to make sure he's OK physically," he said. "He's been doing a good job for us. I get the interest and all that. But the health of the player to me is important. So, we'll see."
As for bringing in a wide receiver from outside, Spagnuolo said, "I haven't had a chance to talk to Billy (Devaney, Rams GM) about other names. That'll be the next focus."
