Per NFL.com:
Limbaugh dropped by group bidding for Rams
Posted: October 14th, 2009 | NFL.com Staff | Tags: Dave Checketts, DeMaurice Smith, Donovan McNabb, Rush Limbaugh, St. Louis Rams
The group that will try to buy the Rams plans to drop Rush Limbaugh, a source with knowledge of the situation told NFL Network’s Jason La Canfora.
Limbaugh, the conservative radio host, was supposed to be a minority part of a group led by St. Louis Blues owner Dave Checketts, but his inclusion has drawn criticism. Colts owner Jim Irsay said Tuesday that he wouldn’t vote for Limbaugh, who has made controversial comments about Eagles QB Donovan McNabb and other African-Americans. Revs. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton and NFL Players Association executive director DeMaurice Smith also have spoken out against Limbaugh.
The current owners of the Rams might end up not selling, but they will go through the process of assessing interest in the team.
Update: Checketts released a statement confirming that Limbaugh has been dropped from the group. “It has become clear that his involvement in our group has become a complication and a distraction to our intentions, endangering our bid to keep the team in St. Louis,” the statement read. “As such, we have decided to move forward without him and hope it will eventually lead us to a successful conclusion.”Super Bowl Champions 2013!

Re: Verified per nfl network-no rush
That is too bad as his inclusion polarized a number of personalities to join my bid to purchase the team.
Ellen DeGeneres
Rosie O'Donnell
Boy George
The Indian Chief from the Village People
Elton John
RuPaul
Billie Jean King
George Michael
k.d. lang
Lance Bass
Annie Lennox
Chastity Bono
Sandra Bernhardt
Siegfried and Roy
BigRedMan
My first act in organizing the group is to ban the dating of players and cheerleaders.
S & R have always tamed tigers and are excited about the Rams.
In an agreement with George Michael, I did concede for the players to sing along during pregame with the song "Father Figure".
Rosie has offered to work out with the offensive line.
Boy George has reluctantly agreed to stop abusing the phrase "penetration up the middle".
k.d. lang plans to physically abuse Josh brown if he misses anymore kicks.
Lance Bass has been voted down on being the center under Bulger.
Sandra Bernhardt promises to only tell her jokes if the team loses a game. We may go undefeated next season unless the player's union lodges a protest to this treatment.
"Chief" wants to hold training camp at the YMCA.
Elton John wants to move all home games to saturday evening because everyone knows that Saturday night is all right for fighting.
RuPaul insists on wearing a cheerleader outfit and dying his/her/it's hair red to attract a certain Rams fan from Springfield.
BJK is pushing for the players to not be allowed to wear cups. No explanation was given.
Annie Lennox insists that each player own a cello and a cow.
BRM has insisted upon bellydancing for the opposing teams prior to kick-off.

Wow, I guess we'll have to go back to the pick on Bulger threads now that Rush is a dead issue.

Re: Verified per nfl network-no rush
You know...
Many radio stations that carry Rush's show also carry NFL games.
THIS WILL NOT DO!!!!
We need to make sure that every station that carries Rush's games either drops Rush's show or is subjected to a boycott by the NFL.
And don't forget Select Comfort Beds... Rush endorses them. Banned!
We need to see this through to the end.

Re: Verified per nfl network-no rush
As director of the NFLPA, I can sort of see why Smith's opinion might be relevant to this discussion. But for the life of me, I don't understand why anyone should or would care what Jackson or Sharpton had to say on this.Revs. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton and NFL Players Association executive director DeMaurice Smith also have spoken out against Limbaugh.
Checketts will be a good owner; he's done a lot in a little time with the Blues. But I am curious to see who the other bidders are."Before the gates of excellence the high gods have placed sweat; long is the road thereto and rough and steep at first; but when the heights are reached, then there is ease, though grievously hard in the winning." --- Hesiod
