Re: Veteran in Greatest Jeopardy
Shaun Mcdonald. I agree with whatever poster said about Looker. He's solid, if (obviously) not spectacular, and holds for 'Money'. Mcdonald was brought in to be a Hakim clone, but we're not running Martz's O anymore.
Also, Fisher is AT LEAST our best nickel or dime back, and I think he's being sold short. Injury free he's still a good corner. Let me put it this way. I'd be delighted if someone beats him out for his position. I know everyone figures Hill's a lock, but let's wait and see.
And Coakley. I like his spirit and attitude, but he's lost a step and is (it seems) injury prone. I also think (hope) we have enough quality ST'ers, that will be coached up.
So there.

Re: Veteran in Greatest Jeopardy
Perhaps Shawn McDonald for the reasons stated.
If so, we can remember him for that awesome TD play at Seattle to win the game or ... the sad ... 'other' play.

Re: Veteran in Greatest Jeopardy
Its got to be one of the veteran cornerbacks. I highly doubt that Groce, Butler, and Fisher all make the roster. Groce is an average player, Butler is coming off an injury and who knows how he'll play, Fisher is the incumbent starter who always seems to get hurt.

Re: Veteran in Greatest Jeopardy
Didnt Dane Looker start doing the punt returns during the season? I would find it hard to believe that they would cut Groce or McDonald as they did just resign the to one year deals. My guess would be Fisher he hasnt had an intercept in 2 seasons

Re: Veteran in Greatest Jeopardy
After a couple days of debating this with myself I have to go with Looker. I think the guy was a Martz hold over and was given a job to justify the position. We are just to deep here and with the TE getting a more expanded role, Looker looks to me the odd man out.

Re: Veteran in Greatest Jeopardy
If Ingognito makes a strong push, could be the end for Timmerman.
The center position, with line calls etc, may still be McCullum's. I picked McCullum first and then changed my mind for that reason. I like Adam T a lot and he is a warrior.. A LONG TOOTHED WARRIOR.

Re: Veteran in Greatest Jeopardy
I think Groce will probably be traded or cut. If Fisher is healthy he'll most likely be the nickel or dime back.
I know there are a lot of ifs heading into training camp, but I forsee a DB line up of Brown, Bartell/Butler, Hill/Fisher.
As for Looker, he's a solid player who will do whatever it takes to win. Guys with that attitude are hard to find.
The "Doughnut Brothers" will be here till someone takes thier place. Unless one of them is beat out in training camp, they will be the veteran leaders of the line.

Re: Veteran in Greatest Jeopardy
I think Looker has pretty good value as a possession receiver. That, in addition to his holding duties and smaller contract, ought to be enough to keep him on the roster over MacDonald...unless MacDonald proves he can return punts.
I think it *has* to be one of the CBs. In many ways it was the deepest position on the team prior to the draft and the Rams added Hill with the intention of improving its top line talent. That suggests to me that one of Groce, Fischer, and Butler are in a tenuous spot. Groce can potentially return punts (he was an All American at it in college if I remember correctly) and is an able and healthy backup. Butler is the best CB when healthy of the remaining two and no way is Bartell going to be cut. That leaves Travis.

Ryan Fitzpatrick - Veteran?
I Went With Dexter Coakley, But Maybe Teaming Up Again With Another Former Cowboy(La 'Roi Glover) Will Help Pick His Game Up For The Rams.
