MEQUON, Wis. — The bumps and bruises are starting to pile up, as can be expected as we get deeper into camp. First-team cornerback Fakhir Brown (shoulder) is out 2-3 weeks, free-agent rookie defensive tackle Josh Thompson (foot) is gone for at least a month, and defensive lineman Victor Adeyanju returned to St. Louis on Monday morning for surgery on a broken middle finger. He’ll miss 2-4 weeks.

Other than maybe having some problems "flipping the bird" it doesn't look like V. Adeyanju will miss too much time.
However, I'm a little concerned about Josh Thompson being gone for a month or so. I was kinda hoping that he would make a positive impression and maybe make this team. What with Wroten bustin' and Carriker healing up slowly, and now Adeyanju's injury, we need all of the D-lineman we can find.
...Sigh... last year it was the O-line that fell apart; let's just hope that this is not the year for a D-line melt down.

    WHAT SAY YE?

2-4 weeks with a broken finger??? That's a load of you know what.

This is the NFL for crying out loud.

I know of a guy that played with a broken leg. Sheeeesh!

Not too worried about this. I'll take minor injuries in camp over real injuries during the regular season.

I don't think it's too big of a deal. We know what Adeyanju can do, and we are set at our two starting DE spots.
Hopefully Bartell and Wade have gotten better since last year. It would be great if Brown and Hill could stay healthy all year and play well, but it's probaly not likely, and Brown is getting up there in age.

For sure, for sure; and it is a minor injury. Vic should be fine next month and ready to go strong by then. I'm not too worried either.

Re: Victor Adeyanju out 2-4 weeks

I imagine that if this were the regular season, he would be splinting the finger up and going back in there.

It being preseason, though, they want to heal him up right, so he has full use of his hands for fighting through blocks.

Was it Ronnie Lott who, rather than miss a playoff game with a broken fingertip, just had the tip amputated? I couldn't ask a player to be that hardcore.

Re: Victor Adeyanju out 2-4 weeks

i agree, this is minor and it should help the hammy calm down. But I have a question....

when they say he's out 2-4 weeks, I assume that's for all or a portion of team activities. My question is... will he return to Mequon after the surgery and take part in the team meetings? And will he take part in conditioning drills that don't require use of the hands? I would hope so... but if someone has a line on what exactly they mean by "out for 2-4 weeks", I'd appreciate your thoughts- thx

I agree, it's amazing how babied these guys are, I played a high school game with a broken ring finger, they put foam between the two, taped them up and said get out there, I was a TE and even caught a pass with the broken finger and I wasn't getting paid millions, but I did get a free orange at halftime.

If this was the season he would probably play. Chill out, you might as well get it fully healed while we have time.

I hear Linehan slammed Victor's finger in his locker door...supposedly by "accident", but some may say it's job security.

    P.S.

It the defensive line becomes decimated by injuries, can Haslett increase his "fieryness" to counter it?
