    Vitt and Martz are friends

    For what it's worth:

I recently heard from Vitt on NFL Network.

When Vitt was asked if he still had contact with Martz he said he did.

Vitt says he talks to Martz on a daily basis. He also said that he went to Martz' home after the Rams victory over the jags.

Personally, I think there is a fraternity among most coaches. They understand the X's & O's and all the crap that goes with the business end of the game.

It can't be easy for either of these coaches and it is nice to hear that there is still a mutual respect and admiration between the two.

Great point Ferter. I love the fact that Vitt remains loyal to Martz, in direct defiance of the back-stabbers and throat-slashers.

Good post, excellent commentary, Ferter.

Coach Vitt has already made a fine name for himself by remaining down to earth, committed, dedicated to doing his job as interim HC -- meeting the football and political challenges head on, just like a real Bighorn.

As you said, "It can't be easy for either of these coaches and it is nice to hear that there is still a mutual respect and admiration between the two."

Therein lies the virtue of both men.

We'll see how things pan out soon enough as Shaw the Jaw may sink further in the extra-bleached, white collar executive, corrupt powers of our Rams conflictive FO.

I'm just glad to have Joe Vitt with us right now.
