Wade Phillips would be a nice fit for Rams HC
Wade could fit in nicely in St. Louis. He wouldn't have the big time pressures and expectations like he had in 'Big D'. He could just do his job without an Owner breathing down his neck every minute. Wade is a pretty good coach with a good track record. St. Louis may just be the place where Phillips could once again prove himself to be a worthy Head Coach, he's sure to get his teams to the playoffs and Stan wouldn't have to break the bank. Something for the Rams to think about....

Really?? Wade Philllips??? You need to stop bashing our QB and re-evaluate your thinking!!!
Re: Wade Phillips would be a nice fit for Rams HC
My problem with Wade is the same problem I had with Spags, he's a nice guy who doesn't show enough emotion. These players need a leader, not a friend. I just don't think Wade is the right guy.

In a word.....NO!

Great coordinator, lackluster head coach.

Absolutely. Phillips demonstrated his lack of gristle and his inability to get tough with his players in Dallas when it was needed. Such a demeanor is too similar to that of Spags- and just the opposite of what this team needs.

We all should know that Wade is very good Defensive Coordinator, but he's also no
slouch as HC with an impressive 82-59 record, .581 winning pct. He got Buffalo to the playoffs twice, also twice with Cowboys. One year the Cowboys went 13-3 under Wade.
Wade was the HC for Buffalo against Jeff Fisher's Tennesee Titans in the famous 'Music City Miracle' in the 1999 playoffs.
Titans went on to play the Rams in SB XXXIV.
The history of the 'GSOT' might've been different had the Rams
played Wades Bills instead.
Don't quite get the comparisons between Wade and Spags. Yes, Wade is a great DC, He's once again in the playoffs with the Houston Texans this year. Spags maybe got more credit for the Giants SB win than needed, thus duping the Rams.
Wade deserves consideration.

DGR do you have anything better to do than write posts that you know nobody will ever like?

I don't have anything against Wade's coaching ability. But as previously stated, Wade's persona is that of a cream puff who runs a very loose ship- the absolute last thing the Rams need.
My three choices are as follows: Jeff Fisher, Marty Schottenheimer and Jon Gruden. I cannot get the least bit excited over anyone else, especially coordinators or others who represent the great unknown.
Looks like I'm going to be very disappointed- something I've sadly come to expect from this football team.

Nothing against Wade Phillips I just don't think it's a good fit for either side.

Wade Phillips HAS NO LEADERSHIP QUALITIES.....HE IS AN UNDERACHIEVER .....He is a college assistant....and that is where he will be in 2 years....
Re: Wade Phillips would be a nice fit for Rams HC
Other than the X and Os. Wade Phillips has no qualities that I would want my head coach to have. No fire behind him, great coordinator for sure, but not HC material. So, no thank you at all
