- On second thought, it appears that right guard Adam Timmerman is not quite ready to play this weekend. He had hoped to play and as recently as yesterday it looked like he might be ready to go. But after further thought and examination Mike Martz and the coaching staff decided he wasn’t ready. Timmerman pushed to play as he always does, but it’s probably to his benefit to take his time in returning.
- Defensive tackle Ryan Pickett won’t be ready to play this weekend because of a back injury that flared up in the past few days. Pickett is out for Sunday, meaning Damione Lewis and Jimmy Kennedy should start inside. That should also allow for some more repetitions for John Parrella, Jeremy Calahan and Brian Howard inside.
- Look for the young players and rookies to get plenty of chances this weekend. Martz is a big believer in allowing rookies to learn by playing in the preseason. With the first round of cutdowns about a week away, this is a great chance for some of the young guys to make an impression and, perhaps, make the roster.
