Mmmm, decent resume, but didn't our last GM come from the Falcons?

We all said devaney was going to lift the rams out of the abyss as well... Give it time boys before we proclaim Snead to be our savior .

We went from the DeSpags to Les Fisher regime.

Exactly, but I can't help but feel the need.

True but the team is in much better shape for the future right now than it was when Devaney was first hired. There is a core nucleus of good young players which was not there in 2009 and the roster is not full of aging veterans that need to be replaced.

And as long as there are not any terrible Julio Jones trades in the Rams future then I am happy with the hire. I also like all the bad puns with his name.

I really wanted Snead or Clinkscales. After Khan started interviewing, I wouldn't have minded him either.

Glad the Rams picked him, young smart guy. Has a lot to prove under a GM position and I hope & think he will!

    LESSSS go Rams!

Well Snead has a much more experienced head coach to help guide him. Not that Spags was junk, but I think their inexperience showed at times, and we would have benefited before from having at least one experienced person there.

Hopefully Fish and him work together well, with Fish's experience leading the way for a while.

No complaints here. Im in a more trusting mood, as far as the Rams, after the current regime was put in place. The Falcons fans didn't have a bad word to say about Snead. Like nearly all potential GM's, Ive heard good things about them. But you still don't know exactly just how much input Snead actually had, in the better players being drafted by the Falcons. Who had the biggest input in the the bad decisions made by Atlanta's FO.? Well see.??????????

Re: Wait over: Rams entering contract talks w/ Les Snead

I think it's awfully difficult to speculate on whether a guy will or won't be good in a GM role unless he's had previous experience in that same position. Coaches are often recycled or had previous jobs as coordinators. We therefore have an idea of what we may expect in terms of coaching philosophy, style of play and type of player he wants. With front office people, it's much tougher. Who amongst us really knows a whole lot about Snead or anyone else other than what we've read?

Billy Devaney was a sound football man with experience. Indications were he was a good choice at the time, as it was for Spags. He did leave this team personnel -wise in much better shape than it was when he came aboard. But he also made a number of mistakes in the draft, too closely aligned himself with Spags and a terrible record sealed his fate. You just never know.

Hopefully Snead is the right choice, but unlike with Fisher, I have absolutely no feel on whether or not he will be.

Looks like the kind of sneed who can call a player in and let him know he was traded to Tampa for two sevenths and some cash and "pick up your check in Ms. Tightbottoms office and turn in your ID card while your there", while playing angry birds on the cell, never looking up.
    Kiss my ass, football gods
