We caught a break this week.....

    PARRISH OUT FOR 4-6 WEEKS
Posted by Mike Florio on September 24, 2008, 3:22 p.m. EDT Our pal Brad Riter of WECK in Buffalo tells us that Bills coach Dick Jauron has disclosed that receiver Roscoe Parrish will miss four-to-six weeks due to surgery on his thumb to repair an injured ligament.
It sounds a lot like the injury that has sidelined Saints receiver Marques Colston.
Parrish was the AFC's special teams player of the week for Week One of the 2008 season. He has seven catches for 60 yards and one touchdown.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Parrish is probably one of their deadliest weapons on offense and special teams. This takes away a potential home run hitter on special teams and speedy deep threat in the slot.

Still the Bills are pretty stacked at wideouts. They still have a deep threat in Lee Evans, good receiver Josh Reed, a pass catching Tight End in Robert Royal, and a redzone threat in the 6'5 rookie James Hardy.

We were just throttled by a team missing its starting 7 receivers (counting Koren Robinson). That doesn't bode well for us against any team at this point.
That's my story, and I'm sticking to it!!

The way the Rams are playing right now, the Bills just need their water boy to show up.

May make for an interesting match-up from the draftnik point of view. James Hardy is one of the WRs who was on the board when we took Avery,no?.

So far he's been buried on the Bills depth chart with only a couple of catches , albeit one for a TD.

IIRC, he's big yet surprisingly quick. Kind of an interesting Thunder vs Lightning comparison, Hardy vs Avery .

Philly was also missing their starting receivers when they played us. Backups seem to be doing quite nicely against us.

We will still find a way to get burned.

Yeah the draftnik in me is looking forward to Mckelvin of Troy also. I watched his stock sky rocket at the senior bowl.

You are forgetting about rookie Leodis McKelvin who has already almost run back two punts for TDs. Although he is a rookie he has the potential to be as good if not better than Parrish and I'm sure you'll get to see that this Sunday.

You did catch a decent break here, but not a huge one. Roscoe hasn't been a huge part of the offense. With the Bills playing a lot of formations with a full back, or two RB's, he didn't see that much time on offense.

Where he will really be missed, is in Punt returns. But the Bills have a returner in Leodis McKelvin who has the ability to return one. He did all of the Bills Returns in the pre-season, and had two big returns.

Where you might get a break though, is that McKelvin will make some bonehead decisions sometimes. (catching the ball inside the five yard line, trying to catch it if it goes over his head, etc)

Under the circumstances, I'll take any break we can get. I'm well aware of the Bills taking advantage of McKelvins speed and Athleticism on special teams.
