We may be at a start of a dynasty!

Hopefully, and soon, our new HC will be Jeff Fisher. But better than that, check this out gentlemen!

" Numerous league sources still expect Jeff Fisher to chose the St. Louis Rams over the Miami Dolphins.

Fisher is expected to bring Tennessee Titans executive Lake Dawson with him in a front-office capacity. Also, it should be noted that Fisher has deep ties toNew Orleans Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, whose contract is expiring.
Williams loves the Saints and coach Sean Payton, according to sources, and New Orleans wants to secure him to a long-term deal. Williams is also a Missouri native, which could pull at his heart strings.
If Williams were to leave the Saints, league sources said former Jacksonville Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio would be a favorite for the Saints' defensive coordinator opening. He already has a house in New Orleans. "

If we land Fisher, and he brings Gregg Williams here with him (Top 3 D-Coordinator in the NFL) we will be 100% set for a quick playoff comeback. Williams has run some of the best Defenses in the NFL, and with the cornerstone pieces we already have, boy our defense can look amazing next year.

This, hopefully will be the start of a dynasty, gentlemen.

Im not sure. If I was a betting man, I'd say the WCO. Less conservative and more risks involved than the one we ran with Shurmur, so its not bad. All signs are pointing to Fisher being hired here real soon. Im assuming it will be the WCO, which would be nice. Manage the game on offense, wear out the D, take some shots, and play hard good defense that creates turnovers.

Going back to the WCO would be huge/great for us. Sam can go back to his original system, not much of a learning curve. He excelled in it. Our offensive line will almost fix it self. I feel very comfortable about leaving Saffold at LT, Smith at RT (cut down the salary), Dahl at RG, and Wragge at C. Just need a LG, and a WR (Blackmon) and we're basically set.

    Dynasty??????

What would give you that impression?

Jeff Fisher coached 16 years in Tennessee/Houston and made the Superbowl exactly once.

What about him says "dynasty" to you?

THis, but he has had numerous nice seasons with an average quarterback in Steve Mcnair and an overall average team.

This sounds really familiar... when did I hear this before? Oh yeah... that's right... ask the Miami Heat what big names equal. All those big names on the coaching staff don't automatically equate to rings. And let's not get carried away with ourselves. Fisher is a good coach but he's never won anything. He's a strong defensive coach with a conservative offensive tendency. Sounds like someone we just ran out of town if you ask me. Will he be better than Spags should he come here? Sure. But lets not clear space in the trophy cabinet just yet.

Let's not discount the fact that he had players forced on him (like Vince Young). Only so much you can do with the hand you're dealt. What I like about Fisher is that even when he did have a losing season, his teams always put up a fight, and they never had the kinds of extended losing Rams fans had to endure. There was a 5 year stretch where his team won 13, 13, 7, 11, and 12 games, then following 2 bad years they won 8, 10, 13, and 8. I don't know too many fans that wouldn't take those kinds of seasons after what we've been through.

I'm sick of only winning 3 or 4 games. I'm sick of always picking high in the draft. I'm sick of hoping for a .500 season. Fisher has proven he can win over a long period of time. Might not be a Hall of Fame coach, but at this point, I'm going to be excited about anyone who wins.

Exactly, any coach who consistently win more than 6 or 7 games is a huge improvement in my book. Most fans seem to only want a coach who will get us to 16-0.... Ain't happening. Lets get a coach who will win us a bunch of games. To get a coach to get us to the playoffs is wishful thinking.

Yup.....Rams start building a new dynasty every third or so years it seems.

    It's a vicious cycle.

If Fisher comes to St Louis and is effective and stays past that magical third season, then that there may just be a "start".

From 2-14 to a dynasty? Don't you have to play .500 ball first and then start talking dynasty? Somebody spiked the Kool-Aid.

Yea this statement is a little premature and with hopes like this after these past 3 years you only set yourself and hopes up to fail.Ill settle for a 9-7 season or even 8-8 next year before we talk about dynasty, your jumping the gun buddy. And im usually the very optimistic one and i cant even make that kind of a statement lol

I'm liking this too. But what about we look to hire Gregg Williams as our HC should we not land the Fish?

    Just a thought.....

I haven't seen his name bandied about anywhere, maybe he isn't considered head coach material?

Well, actually he was the HC for the Buffalo Bills a number of years ago. But failing as the coach of that sorry azzzed franchise should not be held against anyone, IMO.

He was also interviewed by that idiot in Washington, Danny-Boy Snyder- but didn't get the job. Heh!! the moron hired Jim Zorn instead...how did that work for ya Danny Boy?
