we missed trev faulk this year

i think we would have been stronger with trev faulk in the middle and chillar on the bench. Of course, this is both 20-20 hindsight and ignores faulks injury which caused him to get cut in the first place. We really had no other viable option in the middle.

Has anyone heard if Spoon will be moved outside next year? I just wonder if we are looking for a MLB and if so, who would we target in the draft.

Re: we missed trev faulk this year

Our problems with run defense seems to have more to do with our front four than our LBs... Its Spoon's first full year at MLB for us and he did well enough without even a decent NT to take up blockers. Even Ray Lewis dissapeared in Baltimore last year when his line wasnt doing the job infront of him.

I dunno... i just dont think anyone can be sure that we need a fill at MLB besides Spoon when our D-Lines play has been so subpar.

Re: we missed trev faulk this year

thats a legit point johnwayne and it has a lot of merit. However, my point reallly was just that trev faulk is a better player than chillar. I think spoon is a superstar outside linebacker. I think he can be a very good middle guy, i am not averse to keeping him in the middle if we decide to pick up a quality outside guy in place of chillar, but we do need an upgrade at one linebacker spot. 100% agree the key to the defense is better line play, both at tackle and opposite leonard.
