Re: WEEK ONE: Rams @ Lions Live Game Discussion Thread
they HAD it...if the last two drives didn't involve playing the safeties so far back they could return punts, rams could of had a W...wow

Re: WEEK ONE: Rams @ Lions Live Game Discussion Thread
Im really happy with what jeff fisher did to the defense thought we got better at corner held calvin johnson in check. It wasn't enough to get the W but we didnt get blown out like when spags was our coach. Tough loss, but im happier with fisher at the helm.
with an explosive offense like the lions i thought we did ok. Were the youngest team in the NFL we have a couple of years before we become contenders.Last edited by hawaiianpunch; -09-09-2012 at 04:20 PM.

LAFanLT, same here. What was that time out all about?!? Not that it lost the game right there but I just can't figure it out. Pop Warner strategy would have NOT called time out!
Ay, ay ay...

That's Rams football 101.
Just when you think they might actually win a game, they will find a way to lose it. Zero effort on those last two drives.
Yeah, yeah we almost had it, "yay moral victory", whatever.

Re: WEEK ONE: Rams @ Lions Live Game Discussion Thread
The scoreline was close and for about thirty seconds I had hope that we'd hold out for a great win. But the performance was no better than a D+ / C-.
The Lions pretty much moved the ball at will, three big turnovers for us in the first half but they'd walked through us on two of those drives and you can't keep relying on ints. The last two Lions drives really just showed that we're still short on defense, albeit improved on last year (and the three takeaways were very nicely done - should have been a couple more, Dahl and Fletcher dropped two they really should have held on to).
Offense...some good, some very bad. Mostly pretty average, at best. Saffold could be a big loss, hope the kid's ok.
The young kicker is going to be a star. Gibson showed up well, Bradford made some nice plays, missed some too.
We're a four or five win team, imo. Which is no better nor worse than we should expect, given the talent and rebuilding job that needs doing. I think we've got the backroom and coaching staff to do it now, but it'll take a couple of seasons before we're in contention to win the division.
