Week one scare
Against the panthers we have our work cut out for us if that D is still solid. Bulger has to keep everyone happy and jackson needs to be a beast whenever his number is called. Everyone knows our D still has question marks everywhere so being decent should be good enough.
Linehan does have the personnel to mix it up every week against teams that stuff the run or teams that play the pass well. but a balanced attack with success in week one is whats going to keep other teams guessing.
Coaches everywhere will be looking at this game if for some reason we stumble out of the gates. So Linehan has to plan this game as if its his last. We do have some raw talent and the new editions to this offseason will still be learning the system. But we need to look sharp and play almost mistake free. if there is a weakness in our teams armor, it can't show against this team.
Its never really a good idea to show all your weapons in the early stages of the season but if we're to be stopped, the panther in week one, will be providing the blue prints for everyone to come and see.

Re: Week one scare
I disagree completely. You play at 100% and lay it all on the line to win the game. Since there are only 16 games in a season it makes no sense to "not show all your weapons". You do what it takes to win the game, because you never know when one loss will cost you a playoff berth, so never hide your weapons.
The reason why there are usually surprise wins at the beginning of the season and the cream rises to the top later on in the seaon is because at first teams aren't always prepared for what the other team is doing because of new players, coaches, schemes etc. It has nothing to do with not showing all of your weapons.BRUUUUUUUUCE

With Bulger and Linehan working with the likes of Jackson, Holt, Bruce, McMichael, Bennett, Leonard and Klopfenstein in two reciever, three reciever, slot reciever, single tight end, double tight end, single back and two back sets, the possibilities are endless. I think it's safe to let her rip from day one with ALL our weapons.

Re: Week one scare
I'm not worried about the kitties, they may have a better D but it's not the "Steel Curtain". If the Rams come out and play without making big mistakes we win every time.
Let's not forget about the talent level of this team.JUST WIN ONE FOR THE FANS

Re: Week one scare
The only thing you don't use every game are weapons you haven't fully developed yet(usually a rookie) and gadget plays that you only use once or twice a season anyway.
As for our weapons, you use them all, all the time, because then they have no idea where the hell the ball is going. The beauty of this offense is that the defense has to bite at every fake because it can be run happy or pass happy based on what is working that day.
