It was tough for me to decide between Jackson and Austin, but while it was pretty evident Jackson was going to leave, trading up and drafting Austin was a stunner, a welcomed stunner. IMO, it was the biggest news story of the offseason.

Isn't it fab that we actually have these - and other - options to choose from as big / promising news?

Most important thing, with the exception of the CVC, none of these stories are negative. Now, we did have a DUI issue with Tru Johnson this offseason as well, but no huge stories that came out on the scale of Hernandez, Von Miller, or even Maurice Jones Drew. Despite the "problem children" that we picked up, we've so far escaped paying for it. So far.

Although trading up and drafting Tavon was huge in its own right, my vote is for Jake Long. A fantastic move by the FO.

Definitely trading up for Tavon Austin. Most of the time we are talked about on NFL Network is because of Tavon.

    Yes, yes, and.........YES.

That is huge! No arrests, no injuries, no nothing. Even the CVC thing is not really a negative; as it merely opens the door for the next step in the process.

Everyone in camp, nice and healthy, without any appointments to go see the parole officer. Lovin' it.

Trumaine Johnson got pegged with a DUI, unfortunately.

Yes, Sosa, I too read the article and noted that Johnson had the DUI in late winter. And nothing came of it.

As I said, they're entering training camp a clean roster.

I agree that we're in pretty good shape, although there are some minor injury issues with Kendricks, Cudjo, Daniels, and rookie Jones. The key word being minor.

Re: What was the #1 Rams news story of the offseason?

I agree with all the posts here about no negative events, and everyone is healthy except for a few minor matters. I voted for Tavon as he's likely to have the greatest impact on the offense of our team, which was a weakness last year.

For me however the #1 story is the immense optimism I'm feeling going into this year, particularly coming from where we had been prior to last season. I haven't had this sense of optimism for a long time with the Rams. Even though many of us thought 2011 would be great as we had come so close in 2010, we weren't that talented and perhaps were doing it with smoke and mirrors. This year is different in my mind. We have some proven talent and are loading up with younger players who have bright futures. I'm not saying we'll get to the playoffs, but I sure feel like we have a shot with a proven coaching staff.

    Go Rams!

The funny thing is even though we lost potential Hall Of Famer Steven Jackson to the Falcons I still voted for Tavon Austin. I wonder if Austin realizes how much is expected of him from the ClanRam?
