    What about Ray Lewis?

Yeah i heard he was wanting out of Baltimore. If they decide to trade him, do you think we should trade for him?

Ravens | R. Lewis not going anywhere
    Tue, 14 Feb 2006 14:50:21 -0800

ESPN's John Clayton reports the Baltimore Ravens have made it clear they will not trade LB Ray Lewis nor will the team reward him with a new contract. As reported, Lewis is looking to depart from the Ravens via trade and has also been looking for a new contract for quite some time.

Yea I read that Linehan told Shaw if R. Lewis is for trade that he would give away our second for Lewis. I personally would love having him on our team.

he has 999 career tackles, 1 from 1,000 (if you have trouble with math). Let him have #1,000 with some proper attire, some horns.

I dunno if we should trade for Lewis. Sure, he's one of the top LBs, but he's also getting up there in age.

Trading a second round pick for a 31-year-old linebacker who wants a big new contract despite coming off of a season-ending hamstring injury isn't something I'm jumping out of my seat for.

Ditto. Reminds me of Junior Seau, his move from Chargers to Dolphins.

I share the scepticism here, but Seau was still good if not game breaking even after the move.

Gotta go with Nick all the way on this one... Not much bang for the buck at 31 and going. I would rather spend money on the D-line.

Ray still can play the game at a very high level. However the money he's going to want will make most teams turn away.

I love Ray's attitude and work ethic. He would bring presence to the Rams D but at what cost??????

    Re: What about Ray Lewis?

On Defense we have no vocal and emotional leaders that command respect from his team mates and who they will play hard for and feel dissapointed when they miss a tackle or play badly,Ray would bring all of that to the defense plus he is a great teacher,he took Ed Reed under his wing and he is the best safety in the league, what could he do with Carter,Atogwe and possibly Huff and any LB we bring in through the draft.

I think it would be a great move to bring him here.

Agreed. To bring in this kind of LEADERSHIP and HEART to this DISMAL defense for a SECOND ROUNDER(who may never play a DOWN?) would be like STEALING! This is a pipe dream anyhow.
