What adjustment will Martz make?

Who would venture to guess what adjustments Martz will or should make considering Monday's press conference?

For a start I'd like to see our corners bump the receivers at the line combined with situational blitzing. I'd also like to see what Kennedy can do in the rotation. Our defense needs to be more emotional and fired up! Stick to their lanes and gang tackle. Get back to basics and simplify the plan.

Groce, Coady & Anderson are liabilities so far. Hopefully, the new acquistion will provide some depth in the near future. AW needs to step up his game.

I don't know what options we have to improve the RT position but at the least we need to have a RB chip or help block the defensive end on that side. Rumor has it that Williams will be replaced, he should. Granted, Marshall has been helping on the right side occassionally but it doesn't seem to be enough.

I like Trev Faulk at linebacker and I'd like to see Hargrove get more time on the line.

TE play needs to improve. We are in desperate need of a TE stepping up and delivering. This has been a deficiency ever since we lost Cromwell. Perhaps shorter TE patterns for a confidence builder to start.

Special teams...dump Harris as a returner NOW. He's too slow. His running straight ahead into the pile every time ain't cuttin it. MacDonald as a punt returner may be OK, but, I'd prefer to see a specialist here. Coverage needs a stud like Trev Faulk or Sorenson who we miss dearly. The coverage team needs to be more disciplined and in control instead of flying by the play. Keep the ball carrier in front of them and fill the gaps.

What say ye?

Re: What adjustment will Martz make?

A defense like the Rams' needs to have fresh defensive tackles so they can get pressure on the quarterback and be ready to stop the run. You don't want them being worn down on long drives by keeping them in there. I would expect to see a lot of Kennedy in this game to keep our starting two men fresher.

I would also expect to see more slants and hot reads to counter the blitz packages and poor protection that Bulger is likely to see. A fair share of longer developing routes, yes, but let's not hang the guy out to dry. Give him some shorter options in case the line starts to crumble.

I'd like to see more packages and formations that provide some help on the right side of the line with either a tight end or a halfback helping to block over there. Perhaps some more designed rollouts to move the pocket and avoid pressure.

I want to see some defensive stunts and see the Rams mix up Little like they did against the ***** to try and bring him from multiple directions. They need to do something to get more pressure on Hasselbeck.

I'm also hoping that the decision to go live in practice this week will improve our tackling. We'll need it against Alexander.

The D line needs to stop the run up front, period.

That's a good start, BUT, as usual, they need to pound the ball more to keep Bulger off his ass. The proper use of Faulk and Jackson will go a long way towards a victory.

LET'S GO RAMS! :ramlogo:
