The funny thing is i don't know anyone else who is a fan of any of the 3 other NFC west teams.[/quote]
Thats a very true comment, except for maybe the occasional whiners fan hiding out in the closet hoping their team can make the playoffs. I have never meet a single Cards or Seasquawk fan in my life.

1976 or 77, thereabouts. I was living in southern california at the time. And, I hated the Cowboys. (Like no team I have hated since). The Rams were local but that wasn't what mattered the most. What mattered was their defense had the capacity to shut down Dallas. Didn't always do it. But they could and often did.
After I moved I stuck with them.

For me it was a combination of things. Location was a part of it, but I'm just as close to St. Louis as Nashville and not much further from New Orleans. Not to mention the Cowboys were big where I grew up in Oklahoma. I liked the uniforms (and the horns), but ultimately it came down to a respect for the players both past and present.

Re: What was the biggest factor in your becoming a Rams fan?
I was born and raised in So Cal. So, location was a determining factor in becoming a Rams fan.
I think the real question is, "Why have you remained a LOYAL Rams fan?" I don't mean that as a slam. I'm just saying that Rams fans have had a lot of heartache. From bad trades to ownership issues. From a decade of losing seasons to a move to St Louis. What has kept the "old Timers" on this board loyal? That's my story, and I'm sticking to it!!

My uncle was a big Rams fan back in the LA days. He used to buy me Rams shirts for my birthday.
And you thought Mike Martz was "mad"!
