What is the biggest question mark going into 2013?

What is the question that, based on the answer, will be the biggest factor in determining how well the Rams play this year?

Re: What is the biggest question mark going into 2013?

I went with the receiving corps.

To me, their success would create a domino effect. If they are getting open and making big plays, it makes Sam and OL's jobs much easier. It would also take pressure off the running game, which would be more likely to succeed. And, of course, a defense's best friend is points scored by the offense.

So, to me, they are the catalyst. I think that over the next 1-3 years, this group will emerge. The question is... how quickly will it happen?

I went for the RB group. Maybe it is just because RB is the one area where we have been spoiled. But the current RB setup scares me. And I believe having RB's that can eat the clock is needed to help our D stay fresh.

I went with the RB group as well because they are unproven, but it got me thinking about how much I like the kind of offense that we are building. In our WR corps and our RB corps we have both speed guys and power guys. And it seems like they want to use every one of them. I think we are trying to build an offense where we can attack any team at their weakness. If a defense has a bunch of big strong guys, we unleash our speed group. If a defense has a bunch of speedy finesse guys, we bust out with Quick, Pettis, Stacy, and the tight ends. At least thats what I think is going on here.

Maybe I should have went with the O line in this poll. They are going to play a huge role here and we desperately need them to stay healthy. Tough question, lots of good options!

I went for the O-line. It all starts up front, and I am somewhat nervous about J. Long being able to stay healthy. Wells less so, that and the fact we've got Barrett Jones in reserve.

I toyed with the idea of adding the question: Will Ogletree be able to contribute enough in his rookie year to not only start, but make a difference - particularly with regard to Stumpy and Kreeperschtick. However, at the end, the O-line question won out ..

To me, it's Sammy. If the receivers corps and the OL are an upgrade for 2013, and more than like they are, then much depends on the ability of our QB to make the offense click.

A lot of weight rests on the shoulders of SB!

Re: What is the biggest question mark going into 2013?

The question I thought should have been there is, "will all the component pieces of the offense come together." Looking at it from a distances its almost a new offense--NO SJax in 2013 but a new group for the long 2013 campaign--NO D.A. but hopefully a much improved acquisition with T.A.--serious upgrades in personal on the OL with Cook and Long being plugged in--and with all these changes can Bradford make the most of the opportunity that the Rams haven't had in at least 5 years. Right now the Rams have a paper tiger and we will not know if there really is a tiger loose in the NFL till at least game 5 of 2013 season

I had to go with the OLine because if they gel and stay healthy, all other aspects of the offense will improve. The defense is only going to get better.

I know for (reasons enumerated ad nauseum, but in a good way, which I agree with), it's unfair to compare and/or judge SB against RG and Luck, but it's all on our QB. Rookies notwithstanding, with Givens, Pettis and Cook, Bradford has got to make the right decisions/throws.
So, it's quite simply, all on Sam. And he'll come through.
Haven't looked forward to a season this much since 2000.

More seriously, Bradford. It's not now or never, but it's now or very thin ice.

What he said. All will be important, however.

My answer is: Sam. The eyes will all settle on him when the dust clears. However, I can't imagine a scenario where the play of the QB, WR/TE, and OL does not correlate with each other.

If the OL comes together...... Bradford will have more time to get comfortable and find a target. And more time for Bradford means more time for the receivers to get open.

If the receiving corp comes together..... Bradford has open targets on a more frequent basis. And open targets means the OL doesn't have to hold their blocks as long.

If Sam gets it all together..... it takes two to tango, so obviously the receivers are going to benefit. And once again, the OL will not have to maintain their blocks as long.
