Re: What biggest upgrade in starting lineup

    This is a tough one

Saffold is much better than Richardson
Ogletree is much better than McIntosh
Anyone is much better than Dahl

I think Cook is only better than Kendricks b/c of his size and experience. I think Kendricks could become a stud and will be great in a 2 TE set.

Im going to go with Saffold over Richardson. Saffold is an above average LT when healthy, and should do great on the right side if he remains healthy.

I went with Jake Long over Saffold. Although Saffold wasn't terrible (not a ringing endorsement), Long will be more reliable and making Sam a better QB leads to so many other things getting better. Until we know what Austin will bring, I couldn't vote for that, but has the potential to be the most NOTICEABLE upgrade. Until then, it's Long at LT. Truth be told they are all important upgrades because we'll be in a better position to win more games.

Its not fair to put Dahl on here. You could easily put

    Dahl < Pack of gum

Im choosing the pack of gum every time. At least then we would know we had to play with only 10 players

Alot of great choices there... took Big Jake over Roger. Strictly because we get a super all pro!
The others are not as sure commodities, but I expect them all to be impacts on our team in a positive way!
I still cannot believe we got Jake Long, amazing coop or is it Koo? I still think coop means chicken coop, my family has alot of cowboys in it, in fact when I was young I worked on a ranch too. But not chicken coops!

Darian Stewart, even a 3-month baby is an upgrade over Craig Dahl.

It was close between the two tackle spots but went with the upgrade of Saffold over Richardson. Richardson was better than expected but Saffold should be able to hold down most pass rushers while Long is taking care of the other side. Can't wait to see the improvement in the line play this season.

Re: What biggest upgrade in starting lineup

I found this to be a difficult decision just based on the fact that a lot of these players have yet to play a single snap in the N.F.L.

If I take a look at say Danny Amendola to Tavon Austin

Danny has the potential to be a great player in this league, but he is often injured and the poor guy can't seem to stay healthy.

If you look at Tavon this guy has so much potential he has never missed a game due to injury. He has only missed one practice. This guy is explosive and can play multiple positions. He is not only quick, he's fast. However he has yet to play a single snap in the N.F.L. This is why I find it difficult to compare him to Danny. I just want to go on record as to saying I loved the Rams draft and I believe that Tavon has tremendous potential and I would trade Danny for Tavon any day of the week and twice on Sundays.

I picked Jake in this scenario just based on the fact that he is a pro bowl caliber player and has managed to stay healthier than Roger. He is a better player than Roger. I think Roger is a good player with the potential to perhaps become a future pro bowl player, however he can't stay healthy and this is the reason I couldn't pick him over Barry Richardson.

I could go on and on, but my point being as far as potential they are all upgrades and I just can't wait to see them develop into the great players I believe they can be.

Jake Long is a great OT, but Saffold wasn't terrible.

However, Ogletree is an every down LB, whereas McIntosh was a run only player that barely played 50% of defensive snaps. Ogletree is a vast upgrade over McIntosh

OLB is not as important a position as OT, so I don't think people are as sensitized to it. But outside of Dunbar, who was decent, the other OLBs were total scrubs who you didn't want of the field at all.

If Ogletree is as good as advertised, he's a huge upgrade.

Re: What biggest upgrade in starting lineup

I love the upgrade at OLB, there may very well be an immediate impact there.

But I tend to temper my excitement about the draft picks just because they are rookies, and I think it's a mistake to expect a tremendous impact from a rookie in his first year. Even Janoris Jenkins, as well as he impressed, made some rookie mistakes.

So on that note, it's Jake Long at LT allowing Roger Saffold to move to RT ... one move, two positions upgraded. That's my logic and I'm sticking with it
