What was the "BS"?
Last night on NFLN's "Total Access", there was a clip following Chris Long from the draft on Saturday through his introduction at Rams Park on Sunday. If you saw the clip, you saw when Long and Linehan met in some office at Rams Park. They did the obligatory "thumbs-up handshake, pull together & man-hug/chest bump while maintaining thumbs-up handshake and simulataneous back slap with left arm"......you know, the standard man greeting. They exchanged pleasantries and then Linehan said......
....."Hey, sorry about all the B.S."
Exsqueeze me! Bacon powder? Come again?!
What B.S. are you referring to, Coach?
Any speculation out there?

Re: What was the "BS"?
The Rams did not call him on his cell, Linehan said the Rams phones where down or they had the wrong number. So C. Long never got the call before the pick came in. Linehan was on the phone with his mom, while Chris was on the stage.
Chris said he liked that because he did not know until he was picked.

Re: What was the "BS"?
Maybe, but I'm not sure that was it. They did discuss that in the same conversation. Something about Linehan was calling, hearing the ring, and watching the TV. He said he was a little worried that he could hear the phone ringing on his end, but he didn't see Long going for his phone.
Maybe that was it, but I think they had that conversation before the B.S. comment."Before the gates of excellence the high gods have placed sweat; long is the road thereto and rough and steep at first; but when the heights are reached, then there is ease, though grievously hard in the winning." --- Hesiod

Re: What was the "BS"?
I heard the sameting Rambos heard. It was an issue with Linehan not call him on his cell.

Re: What was the "BS"?
Maybe all the "we're so hot on Dorsey and not ever talking about you because we secretly want to pick you but at the same time don't want anyone else to know we're picking you so that way nobody picks you or trades up to get you so it won't be a problem for us to pick you" B.S. perhaps?

Re: What was the "BS"?
Who cares? At least he didn't have to be restrained from going after Linehan at the press conference like Torry Holt and Stephen Jackson did on the sidelines last season. Can't have all our star players wanting to kill our coach...that's just bad karma!!!

Re: What was the "BS"?
I really don't care what happened. At least we didn't see Chris Long tackle Linehan on the spot.

It was probably nothing important.

Re: What was the "BS"?
Maybe he was referring to all the media hoopla and their forcing Long to do his little dance and smile, chest bump, etc. in front of the camera. apparently, Long didn't sleep at all the night before he got to Rams park and maybe he wanted to crash, but they had all the media b.s. to deal with before they'd let him go.
that's a guess...

Re: What was the "BS"?
The B.S. stands for "bacon sandwiches." The Rams served bacon sandwiches at their draft party and Chris Long does not eat bacon because it's so fattening, so he had nothing to eat.

Re: What was the "BS"?
Or, maybe it stands for "bud suds" and Chris is an import guy.

Re: What was the "BS"?
i agree with the beer man. It was likely an apology for giving off the impression that the rams might take dorsey when long was really their guy all along.

Re: What was the "BS"?
Yeah, I'll bet he was referring to the Dorsey smokescreen. They probably told him beforehand that he was their pick and then threw out the Dorsey rumors to bait the Falcons into moving up. Little did they know...
