Forgot about him... good point.

I wouldn't replace him, but I am a bit disappointed (as is he) that he has not been more involved in the game plan.

That's probably due to protection problems and that brings us back to the injuries on the o-line. Hmmm.....Just can't escape it.

I suspect he'll be back to normal next year when everybodys healthy.

To be fair about this, I did favor bringing in Chavous at the time. His performance hasn't always been what we'd hope, but the move made sense at the time regardless of his connection to Linehan. We were completely rebuilding the defense and needed veteran leadership. We also needed help at safety in what I think was a fairly shallow free agent pool at the position.

Likewise, Frerotte made a lot of sense. He was a veteran who knew the system. That's basically what I'd be looking for in the quarterback's immediate backup. With Chavous and Frerotte, I'd say that the need to replace them is in no small part due their age.

I pictured Olson as OC for Linehan much like Fairchild for Martz. If Linehan was showcasing his supposed talent with offensive coaching, Olson's shortcomings wouldn't be coming up. So maybe it was a bad choice by Linehan if what he really needed was for someone to run the offense for him.

I wasn't real sure about the Al Roberts hire, and I'm still not sure. We're not doing well there right now, but it's not like we've had a ST coach recently that was very successful. I don't know whether it's the coaching or the players.

I didn't agree with the choice to dump Hedgecock for Owens and still don't.
