What does an "interview for head coaching vacancy" look like?
I've always been curious, what does one do to "woo" the judges, so to speak, and ultimately win them over?

Maybe you drop your pants, it seemed to work for Singletary.

I'll bet Billy D already knows who he is going to hire and he is going to go through the process to make it look like he was very thorough. Other than that, the fans have more of an impact than most people think, I believe. Need to have good coaches that you would hire. Most HC interviews last all day, but I've heard Billy D is much shorter....

They talk about all aspects of the business. I used to be a college coach and you can ask a coach to talk about one play and they can spend an hour just takling about that one play. They talk about everything from how they would structure their work week to practice intensity, to training camp organization to system of beliefs, anything you could possibly think of.

Yes- I would imagine an interview to coach at the professional level is probably very similar to one conducted in the business world or in any other occupation involving high volume demands. Philosophy, vision, day to day operations and handling hypothetical situations are probably all part of the process.

No but seriously, I've wondered the same thing..even just explaining their schemes and what they bring to the table shouldn't take more than an hour..at least you'd think now..
