How did we ever lose the people who took us to the promised land?

Dick Vermeil



He comes is in with (I cant rem his name ATM) a really gifted GM that could see talent ( IE he was the person who said that Kurt Warner was special before we all knew)

Vermiel builds truly gifted teams on both sides of the ball that netted us a Superbowl and a Victory there.

Shortly after that victory--- he's gone!

The 'word' was that Martz threatened to leave to get a HC job elsewhere, so Vermeil was 'forced out' to keep Martz.

Martz then takes what is essentially A Vermiel team to the SuperBowl in his 2nd? year where he loses to a Bellcheat team (and we blew them out that same year in regualr season).

Martz then goes on to become so consumed with his passing schemes that he forgets he has Marshal Faulk, and for that matter, amyone who can run the ball, thereby leading to the start of our teams decline.

So does anyone know, aside form Vermeil, why were the other people who built the Greatest Show on Turf let go?

I'm not sure of the name of GM either but the rest of the coaching staff went to KC when Dick got there, for the GSOT part 2.
