If the Rams could get a big impact player out of this years draft what type of player and what position would you prefer.

    Re: What IF

Sapp, if we had a young guy that was as good as that guy from the start, that'd be amazing. We'd do some good things on D, and fast...

    Re: What IF

I could handle seeing Deion Sanders high steppin' into the end zone with a punt or interception return. Not to mention having a shut down corner.

    Re: What IF

This is going to be a Great, Great thread. To me it came down to Sapp or Lewis. I want a beast @ DL so bad, and admiring Sapp's carreer so much (actually I somehow feared him when he was in his prime), I still have to say Lewis. The man makes the defense his by just being in the house. Now in the wane of his great carreer, even on the bench, RL still influences HIS D. He is a leader. Others that have played with him have gone on to other teams and been ordinary. A true catalyst.

    Reggie White, DE.

One of the all-time best, a Deacon like sack man extraordinaire. ...And LL!

    Lawrence Taylor.

I can't remember a defensive player that opposing offenses had to game plan around more than him. In his prime, he was the best LB I've ever seen.

I remember watching him in NFL Films programs as a kid. He was scary.

    Re: What IF

We need a DT to take the pressure off of the LB's. Ray Lewis suffered when the Raven's didn't have a DT to protect him. The same will happen to any LB we put in the middle if we don't have a DT that can protect him. Actually, I'm not sure Warren Sapp is the right choice either but a better choice then Reggie White. Warren Sapp could eat up OL requiring double teams and collasp the pocket in rushing the passer.

Why the hell Sapp even on there ( one of the most overated DLs ever). My vote goes to Gilbert Brown.

    Re: What IF

LT is still my all time favorite. His play alone could change the outcome of the game and often did.

I'm torn and could justify all of these positions. What I feel the Rams need more than anything is a presence in the middle. We have the speed on the D to shut down the ends we need to shore up the middle to stop the running game.

In other words we need a Sapp and I agree he is somewhat overated but in his prime had to be double teamed and accounted for. Out of all the options it was hard for me not to select LT, Deon Sanders, or Reggie WHite. The selection I made was not base on my favorite player but what I thought woulld benefit the Rams the most....

    Re: What IF

Although somewhat over-rated with our current needs a Warren Sapp like player is what we need most.We desperately need an anchor on our line and a big body who can get penetration into the back-field and cause disruption to the offense. And with someone of his caliber it would free up other players to make plays..:l
