What jersey number will Chris Long wear for the Rams?

Long made some comments about his possible jersey number...

I thought about it a little bit. I just really have to talk to my family and see what they want. I couldn’t really care less. I hope that I can make that number worth something. Obviously, my college number, Leonard (little) has it, but that’s in the past. It’s a new chapter in my life and just as I changed my number in college, I will wear a new number here.

Yeah it would. I think that I am cool with the pressure, but there is no need to shovel it on myself.

Okay, so it sounds as if #75 and #91 are out.

So what's it going to be?

The following numbers I believe are legal for defensive ends and are currently free: 64, 67, 69, 72, 74, 78, 79, 93. The following numbers could be freed up later through cuts: 60 (Leckey), 61 (Raiola), 71 (Petitti), 75 (LeVoir), 92 (Moore), 98 (Ah You). Again though, Long seemed to rule out 75.

Maybe he gives Clifton Ryan a bit of a payoff and takes 95?

I say 93. I guessed Caldwell and Macklin's numbers right for this season. Why not this one?

I dont think he will choose a number with any significance. The type of person Chris is, he will take a number that is available, and make that number his own. It wont be picked for any superstition or because of a past player, he will take a number and try his hardest to make sure when people see that number on the Rams they instantly thing Chris Long.

I think he will go with 93, since its the only number available in the 90s

I am assuming players need to decide quickly on a number, so the NFL can start making money on their jersey.

I am going to guess #79. It is not a normal choice, but Long isn't your normal player or person. I see him liking that for some reason.

In an ideal world, he'd have #73, to show he's one better than Dorsey.

With his name long and his ability to play both ends I would think #69 is the obvious choice.

haha i doubt that will factor in this obvious stressful decision for him, but i would also say #93
