What are the Rams Top 10 "Biggest Dropoff" Positions?
Question...
At what positions do the Rams have the biggest dropoff from their starter to their backup?
My Top 10:
1. Sam Bradford ==> A.J. Feeley
2. Rodger Saffold ==> Renardo Foster
3. Steven Jackson ==> Cadillac Williams
4. Harvey Dahl ==> Adam Goldberg
5. Ron Bartell ==> Al Harris
6. Brad Fletcher ==> Al Harris
7. James Laurinaitis ==> Dave Vobora
8. Quintin Mikell ==> James Butler
9. Jason Brown ==> Hank Fraley
10. Jason Smith ==> Renardo Foster
In listing these players, I note that:
- The Rams WRs are all pretty close right now.
- The Rams have two TE prospects who are comparable.
- Robert Quinn provides a strong backup at both starting DE spots.
- The Rams' OLBs are largely interchangeable.
- While the dropoff at QB, LT and RB is unavoidable, the Rams might want to look at the waiver wire for an experienced CB to add to the mix.

Fine!

Anyways, QB depth is the biggest dropoff at depth (since it's the most important position in the league and Feeley is struggling at practice) but it's close to guard depth IMO, if Dahl falls down, then our running game is screwed but I'd still think it's fine if Goldberg was backing up Bell. CB-depth is questionable atm with Murphy down but I think Al Harris can still play solid nickel or dime packages and safety as well but we have new rookies who might pan out as well as Darian Stewart. Renardo Foster was really impressive taking in Rodger Saffold's role when facing the Whiners. Everything else is pretty solid.

Re: What are the Rams Top 10 "Biggest Dropoff" Positions?
I think the drop-off from either of the starting corners to a 36-year-old Al Harris has to be up there right behind quarterback and maybe even ahead of left tackle. Goldberg is a borderline starting quality lineman, and he has been here long enough to have some familiarity with his linemates' tendencies. If he has to start for us, I'm not going to be that worried. I would be legitimately worried, on the other hand, if Harris was regularly being asked to cover opposing teams' no. 1 receivers.

Not the easy choice this would have been a couple of years ago when RB would have been the only choice for me. Jury's still out on Cadillac, of course, but at least we know the talent is there if he stays healthy.
Has to be QB,imo.

I would agree with all of those, however the only question i would have is whether James Butler really is the next in line behind Mikell. I think Stewart might have the upper hand on him at the moment1. Sam Bradford ==> A.J. Feeley
2. Rodger Saffold ==> Renardo Foster
3. Steven Jackson ==> Cadillac Williams
4. Harvey Dahl ==> Adam Goldberg
5. Ron Bartell ==> Al Harris
6. Brad Fletcher ==> Al Harris
7. James Laurinaitis ==> Dave Vobora
8. Quintin Mikell ==> James Butler
9. Jason Brown ==> Hank Fraley
10. Jason Smith ==> Renardo Foster

Early in camp feely doesnt look like a good fit in this offense he has been a west coast guy his whole career and his already mediocre skill set is detereorating as he gets older
