I think Martz should move back to OC and we'll be fine if we find another HC

Honestly guys, I wouldnt ever recommend taking the path we took, and firing your coach without a better replacement on hand, and I doubt Martz could handle going from head coach to o-coordinator with his ego and all, but best case scenario for the rams in my oppinion would be to have martz as your 0-coordinator with a more respectable leader as HC. I dont think Martz has wide enough vision. But certainly one of the greatest offensive minds in the game.

Who would that HC be, that has a better winning percentage then Martz and also is out of a job?

You aren't going to offend me. I am as big a Mike Martz supporter as I am the Rams. I may get upset with the guy every once in a while, but I like the guy and can't think of anyone else I would rather have.

Re: What side of the Fence are you on?

The subject is almost as volatile as the occupation in question.

First and foremost I am a Rams fan. I have seen too many head coaches and players come and go to say otherwise.

Having said that I am secondly for accountability. That goes for players and coaches. Both are making millions of dollars playing a game that I and many others are extremely passionate about.

IMO there is very little margin for error that should not be subject to criticism. Given the amount that the players and coaches are being paid it simply comes with the territory.

You demand big bucks then you need to get the job done or be subject to criticism and/or dismissal.

Players are measured by execution and coaches are measured by wins and losses. Wins and losses are predominately subject to player execution.

It is a tough call to say Martz should go based on wins and losses. In fact he should stay based on wins and losses.

Certain players should go based on execution. How much of this falls to the head coach is something I am not privy to, however, there are those within the organization who should go based on personel decisions. It's hard to imagine that Martz has final say on all personel matters, but if so, then he should be the fall guy.

But shouldnt the coaches be liable for the executions(plays) they call? If the play doesnt match the situation very well, it becomes increasingly difficult to execute. Martz himself admiitted to calling the wrong play at the end of the Rams/Niners game.

I tend to agree that there is no one out there available better than Martz, and that firing a coach midseason even makes less sense, but is he really the best long term option?

Maybe on occasion, but for the most part you can break down any failed play and find some form of failed execution on the part of a player. The opposing players get paid as well.

Martz has a habit of taking the blame for his players. It is not really a bad thing, but it used to frustrate the hell out of me. I have come to understand that it is his way and I now take what he says with a grain of salt.

His is the role of General on the battlefield. Any breakdown in execution, he feels, is ultimately his fault. Those are His Troops, win or lose.

I'm sorry but Belichik is taken. Reid is taken too, I don't think there is any other coach better than him so far. We just have to adjust the defence and the unSpecial teams, that's it
