What gives you hope for the future in the face of these troubled times?
My avatar gives me hope. : )
Seriously though... I think what gives me hope is that all of the above statements are true.
Plus I would add that win or lose, stays or goes... Spags gives me hope. He may not be around to take us to the promised land but he has steadily brought us out of the darkness. It may not feel like it right now but the future finally looks bright because of the way he has rebuilt our team.
Oh except for the Cardinals crap. WE WILL GET THEM NEXT YEAR... GO DODGERS!
Hope??? What is the Obama 08 rallying cry for the rams now??? You can have hope all you want,
Just win baby like the late great mr. Al Davis always said.... I don't want hope, I want results...
next year's draft should be deep at WR.
This year's draft is an elite skill position draft and we should use our top 4 picks on WR, WR, RB, CB ---
Oline is a problem, but nothing a rookie will help with -- we need to cut the weak link and sign on Olineman in Free Agency...
Free Agency is very key for us this year.....
For me its having the young franchise quarterback, as that's usually the first step to success. Too bad we're turning him into David Carr...
And rambunctious, what exactly has spags done for you to put so much faith in him? Is it because we had a losing record last year with an incredibly easy schedule? He hasn't taken us "out of the darkness". Dude has managed 8 wins in 2 1/4 seasons. That's not good.
I want the guy to turn it around, but he has never done anything with this team for me to trust him. If we limp to anything less than 7-9, he needs to go.
I guess for some the answer is...

"Do not trust to hope... it has foresaken these lands."
I agree. We aren't very good right now. But progress in my opinion can't just be measured by where we are... you have to factor in where we were. I would contend when Spags took over we were a decimated team. Not just in bad shape but DECIMATED.
I mentioned it in another thread that the proof of how bad we were is... there is hardly any position you can point to that we haven't upgraded and yet we still suck.
I say suck but you have to understand. In my opinion there is a very fine line between a winning program and a losing program. I mean I understand how great Manning is but seriously Indy is 0 and 5 without him. Probably would be 5 and 0 with him. Same offense, same defense, take a way one player and the puzzle falls a part.
I also figure in that we have had some bad luck with draft picks. Yea I hear the cries of "We can't evaluate talent!" but I am just not buying it. All of the stats, times, interviews, tryouts, etc... are just indicators. They don't mean shoot when you strap on an NFL helmet. The only ones that thought we were idiots for selecting Jason Smith are the ones that thought we should draft Aaron Curry. Turns out neither may have been a good choice but that doesn't mean the choices were bad to make. Somethings just don't work out. Somethings do like DX. It's a crap shoot and we have had more than our share of crap.
Any way I am rambling now. I just think Spags has a lot of the pieces to the puzzle on the table and a plan to put it all together. Just my opinion though. : )
Another upside: We know there's a learning curve to McDaniels' offensive scheme, so there is good reason to believe that the offense will get better if given time to master the system even if nothing else changes.
So I have to ask who is your weak link on the O-line to cut? I really hate to admit it but the way it looks to me I have little confidence in Jason Smith as I did with Alex Barron:disapointed:. I would have to disagree with your order of top 4 picks. I would go with WR, RB CB,CB.
