Wow...ultimate poll fail. There is an Other option, which I thought would cover all the bases, but I guess I was not specific enough in my poll questions.

For instance, inexperience to me falls under the heading of lack of Mental Conditioning.

Sorry, I will try to post better polls in the future.

I just find these losses so frustrating because despite our youth and everything else mentioned, we are still in these games. These are winnable games, not just 'learning experiences'.

A defeated look of consternation, dissappointment, or even pain. The name derives from the look one often gets when challenged by a large BM.

Re: What stops the Rams from finishing these games?

I'm not sure I even like the question being posed. The fact is we run an offense that, for the most part, operates within 10 or so yds of the line of scrimmage. It's very difficult to churn out any real, sustainable offense when defenders are all crammed pretty close to the action.

I keep seeing comments about how much better we'd be with Clayton and Avery. I'm not sold on that. Avery is/was fast. However, he's not very big (5'11", 183lbs), and he's not the best route runner. Last season he didn't catch a TD and had 2 lost fumbles. Clayton is a better route runner, but he's also on the small side. We could use a guy with some size as well as speed (good hands too).

I've also seen some people on this board disregard Amandola. While he doesn't stretch the field, he has great hands, and makes some really clutch catches. He is a Welker type receiver. If we had a couple of legitimate WRs, he'd be an awesome weapon.

On defense we need some OLB help. If the Vikings don't sign Greenway, he'd be a big help to our D. We still need more push in the middle of the D line. A big tackle in the middle wouldn't hurt. We also need DB help. Guys that can actually cover and CATCH the ball would be helpful. I know our D line needs to get more pressure, but it seems our DBs can't keep coverage for even 3-4 seconds. That's just not going to cut it. We've made some pretty average QBs look absolutely amazing this season.
That's my story, and I'm sticking to it!!

We need two great guards. The INTERIOR linemen.

    It's about the blocking.
With all the gravitas of Jackie Treehorn.

    Other.

We're still learning how to win games. Sometimes, when it's close deep into the fourth, we get beaten by a team that knows how to win. We're VERY young. Inexperience gets the better of us on offense, which in turn fatigues the defense.

Exactly, BBQ. Yesterday I was going to post a one-word / enough said, simplistic reply to the original question, i.e., 'EXPERIENCE'. But it is nice to elaborate on what elements stem from said experience -- young team, rookie QB, defeats, coaching, etc.

We are just young. The coaches mentally, and the players mentally and physically. The end of the year games will tell the tell.
